Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and a blessed Labor Day weekend to all!

Our theme for this month is "Into the Upside-Down," concentrating on how our Lord encourages us to look at things from heaven's perspective. In a culture obsessed with status, titles, and moving up the ladder, we tend to think of greatness in terms of wealth and/or power. Jesus turns this notion on its head when He uses a child as His basis for greatness. Within the family of God, Matthew 18 calls us to build a culture that looks drastically different from the world. What child-like characteristics should the disciples of Jesus be cultivating? Why is God so protective of "little ones?" Gather with us tomorrow at 9 AM as we explore these questions.

The choir has begun its 2026-2027 season! Keep in mind that they will be practicing every Wednesday at 3:30 pm and always welcome new voices!

Pizza and a Prayer will be held this Thursday at noon. Please sign the sheet in the narthex if you would like to join us.

Next Sunday will be the Kick-Off for our Sunday School, with a special blessing for all our kids who are school age (parents, please make sure your kids bring their backpacks). After the worship service, we will be holding our regular coffee hour, followed by the Annual Church Picnic at 11:15 AM. Brats, hotdogs and hamburgers, along with side dishes and desserts will be provided. Games and a Cribbage Tournament will follow the lunch. Please dress casually!

The Pastor will be on vacation from September 17th until the 23rd. Because of this, the Men's Bible Breakfast has been cancelled for September. I will be available by phone if there are any emergencies during this time (920-285-9063).

Blessings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Tomorrow we once again look at one of the "Major League" prophets: Isaiah. In a few short verses he lays out the agenda for both the ancient Israelites and the modern-day Church. Tomorrow's excerpt from this great book encourages acts of righteousness and assures that God’s covenant brings joy to all who follow Him, regardless of their background. Did the ancient Israelites have an evangelism program? What is God's vision for His kingdom, present and future? Join us tomorrow at 9 AM as we examine these crucial topics.

Please remember that the last day for our Annual School Backpack Drive is tomorrow. You can contribute by placing your gifts in the backpack on the music stand in the narthex. All proceeds go to the families of our school-age children to help offset the cost of their clothes and supplies for the upcoming school year. And the WOW Group has agreed to match up to $300 for this cause! Thank you to all who have participated!

The Mens' Bible Study Breakfast will be held this Friday at Towner Crest, beginning at 9 am.

This Saturday, Lord of Life will be hosting the Brat Shack at Piggly Wiggly from 9 AM until 2:30 PM. We still have a few volunteer slots open and are in special need of helpers to set up at 8:30 AM. If you are interested in volunteering, please put your name on the sheet in the narthex. Thank you!

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

When we think of the biblical figure of Job, we do not usually think of prophecy. Patience is the characteristic most associated with this suffering man. However, like Moses and David, there was true prophecy in his words. Through poetic and humbling questions, God takes Job on a tour of the cosmos. At first glance, God's response might seem harsh, but it is actually deeply comforting. In what does true patience lie? What do we mean by "God's sovereignty" and how can we take comfort in it? Join us tomorrow at 9 AM as we learn life's truths from the words of our God.

The Church Council will be meeting tomorrow after the worship service.

The richest blessings of our Heavenly Father rest upon you!

In a world that constantly tells us to achieve, buy, and hustle, we often find ourselves exhausted and unfulfilled. We spend our energy on things that promise happiness but leave us feeling empty. Tomorrow's text from the prophet Isaiah turns our worldly values upside down. What God offers us is "free of charge" but it still had a cost. Why is heaven often pictured as a great banquet? Is the prophet describing our current situation or a future event? Join us tomorrow at 9 AM and discover new truths about old prophecies!

Our annual "Back to School Backpack Drive" begins this Sunday. A marked backpack for donations is hanging on a hatrack in the Narthex; just slip your gifts inside. Plus, the WOW group has pledged to match funds up to $300! All proceeds go to the families of our Sunday School children to help offset some of their back to school costs. In past years, the parents have been very appreciative of this help!

Our Wednesday Bible Study on Isaac and Rebekah continues to meet in the Fellowship Hall every Wednesday at 4:30 PM.

Grace, mercy and peace be unto you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Most times, we think of Moses as a Lawgiver and not a prophet. However, this man was both and he was chosen to be a great leader of the Children of Israel! While things like report cards, job promotions and Olympic medals are based on merit, God has a different way of determining His winners. His choices are rooted in His character, not our resume. We do not have to earn His affection. Why does God "root for the underdog?" In what sense was Moses a "prophet?" Join us tomorrow at 9 AM and gain insight into the Lord's marvelous ways!

There's still time to stop by our Holiday Rummage Sale, running until 3 PM this afternoon. Whether you want to lend a hand or just get a great bargain, please consider joining us this morning or afternoon and support this worthwhile event. Many thanks to those who worked so hard on this sale - especially Karen H!

Many thanks to all those who made this year's VBS such a wonderful time! Our theme was the Olympics and the children learned some important lessons about running the race and winning the prize. Special thanks go out to our teachers, Kathy B., Jeanne L., Deb J., and Betty B as well as all the helpers. It was energy well spent in touching the lives of these precious children! They will be putting on a short presentation on Sunday during the worship service.

Both the WOW and G-MEN'S group will be holding their monthly meetings after the fellowship hour tomorrow morning.

Please remember that our parking lot will be unavailable starting this Tuesday morning until this Thursday morning due to the work being performed by Poblocki Paving. Because of this, Scott and Jeanne L have offered to open their home for the Wednesday Bible Study at 4:30 PM. Consult the Church directory or contact the Church office for their address.

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

During our worship today, we will once again look at the prophet Isaiah, one of the "Major Leaguers." The sovereignty of God is theological a way of saying He rules over all things and circumstances. It is incredibly easy to feel overwhelmed by the circumstances of life. The words of Isaiah speak a gentle reminder of God's presence and faithfulness. Because we know Who holds the future, we don't have to be paralyzed by fear. Why does the Lord describe Himself as a Rock? What sets our God above all other idols? Join us at 9 AM as we glorify our Maker and Redeemer!

We have a very busy week here at Lord of Life! Our VBS begins this Tuesday at 9:00 AM and runs until Thursday. Our theme this year is "Running for the Gold," with an Olympic theme. We will be looking at the life and ministry of Paul, who had a lot of adventures. If you have not registered your child, please do so by picking up a form in the narthex. The cost is $20 and includes a T-shirt, crafts and snacks. VBS will conclude each day at 12:30, with a special presentation on Thursday.

Bible Study continues to be held every Wednesday at 4:30 PM.

This Friday, July 24th, at 9:00 AM, we will be setting up the Fellowship Hall for our Holiday Rummage Sale held the following day from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. We have a wonderful array of holiday items--all at bargain prices! If you would like to help with this event, please sign up on the sheet in the narthex. Or just come on Saturday and get yourself a holiday deal!

Heavenly Father, because You are the ultimate Rock, I choose to release my fears and anxieties. Forgive me for the times I look to the world for security instead of Your unchanging nature. When the unknown threatens to overwhelm me, remind me of Your promises and Your protection. In Jesus' name. Amen

Grace, mercy and peace be unto you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Tomorrow, we return to one of the major prophets: Isaiah. Using an interesting simile, God compares His Word to the precipitation that waters crops (and also weeds). He then goes on to demonstrate how all of God's creatures (even plants!) give glory to Him. The imagery reminds us how all of creation responds to the redeeming love of God. Why is the study of God's Word so important? What should be the results of our gathering together every Sunday? Join us tomorrow at 9 AM and be encouraged!

It is never too late to join our "In the Beginning" Bible Study focusing on the relationship of Isaac and his wife Rebekah at 4:30 PM every Wednesday. We had good attendance last week and the discussion was wonderful. Can we still gain new insights from this ancient couple? You bet! Feel free to join us for any or all of these studies held through the end of August.

We will be pricing items this Wednesday at 1 PM for our Rummage Sale . As new items come in weekly, we could use the extra hands to get things ready for the sale on Saturday, July 25.

A Happy Independence day to you all!

Tomorrow we will take a look at a prophet we have not heard from yet: Zechariah. Written after Babylonian exile, the thrust of this letter was to encourage the returning exiles (formerly prisoners) to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. Typically used as a Palm Sunday text, tomorrow's reading has lasting ramifications for our generation as well. Why did Jesus ride into Jerusalem on a donkey? Who are the prisoners of whom the prophet speaks? Join us at 9am tomorrow to find out!

Both the WOW and G-Men's groups will be meeting after the worship service tomorrow.

Poblocki Paving will be working on our driveway and parking lot area starting this Thursday, July 9th. Because of the work they will be doing, our parking will be unavailable on both Thursday and Friday. If you need to be in the church building during either of these days, please park in the back lot of the Lake Area Club just east of Lord of Life..

Due to the parking lot project, Pizza and a Prayer has been cancelled for the month of July.

A new Bible Study is starting this Wednesday at 4:30 PM. As part of continuing "In the Beginning" series, we will spend 8 weeks looking at the life and marriage of Isaac and Rebekah (Abraham's son and daughter-in-law). There's a lot to learn in the early history of the Israelites as told by the book of Genesis. All members at Lord of Life are encouraged to attend and see how the same family dynamics are at work even in the 21st century!
