Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

There are moments in life when God allows us to come to the end of one chapter so that He can begin writing another. A new beginning can feel uncertain because we cannot see what is ahead, but we can be confident in the One who is leading us forward. Psalm 46:1 reminds us that God is not simply our refuge when everything falls apart, He is our strength as we stand back up and move forward. We do not have to carry yesterday into tomorrow, nor do we have to allow what happened before to determine what God can do next. When God closes a door, He is still our refuge; when He opens a new one, He is still our strength.

Moving forward requires faith. We may not know exactly where the road will lead, but we know Who walks beside us. God is present in the transition, present in the uncertainty, and present in the new beginning. So today, let go of what is behind you, place your trust in God, and take the next step. The same God who sustained you through yesterday will strengthen you for tomorrow. This is not the end of your story, it may simply be the beginning of what God has been preparing you for.

Psalm 126:3
The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

Have you ever stopped and simply looked around at all the amazing things God has created? The beauty of a sunrise, the vastness of the ocean, the detail of a flower, or even the uniqueness of every person He has made can leave us truly in awe of His beauty and splendor. Yet, when we look at ourselves, we don't always see that same beauty. We often struggle to recognize the wonderful work of God's hands in our own lives. We tend to measure our value through the lens of what others say about us, their opinions, their acceptance, their approval, or even their rejection. But why do we give the opinions of others so much authority over how we see ourselves? Why do we value the words of those who did not create us more than the voice of the One who did?

Psalm 126:3 reminds us, “The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.” God has done great things for us, but He has also done great things in us and through us. Our worth was never determined by another person's opinion; it was established by our Creator. The same God who created the heavens, painted the colors of the sky, and formed every intricate detail of creation intentionally created you.

Don't allow someone else's words to make you question God's workmanship. When you look in the mirror, don't just see your imperfections, see the evidence of a God who is still working. Rejoice in what He has done, trust Him with what He is still doing, and declare with confidence: “The LORD hath done great things for me; whereof I am glad!”

Psalm 116:12
What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?

There are moments when I have to stop and look back over my life and simply ask, “Lord, what can I give You for all You have done for me?” I can see the places where God has brought me through, the doors He has opened, the battles He has fought, and the moments when I didn’t know how I was going to make it, but He made a way. Even in this season of rebuilding, changing, and stepping into something new, I am reminded that none of it is because of my own strength. It is because of His grace, His faithfulness, and His goodness. Like the psalmist, I find myself overwhelmed by the benefits of the Lord and asking, “What can I give back to the God who has given me so much?”

The answer is not simply to say “thank You,” but to live a life that points others to Him. If God has blessed me, delivered me, restored me, and given me another opportunity, then I must use what He has placed in my hands to help build His Kingdom. I can give Him my time, my gifts, my resources, my testimony, my compassion, and my willingness to serve. Growing the Kingdom means taking what God has done in me and allowing Him to work through me so that someone else can experience His love. When we understand how much we have received from God, serving Him stops being an obligation and becomes our grateful response: “Lord, because You have done so much for me, use me to reach somebody else.”

Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Solomon, writing as a father and teacher of wisdom, was reminding his son that life would bring circumstances he could not always understand. His instruction was to trust God completely, acknowledge Him in every area of life, and allow God to direct his path.” As believers we will not always understand what God is doing while we are walking through it. The instruction, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding,” calls us to place our complete confidence in God rather than in our limited perspective. He knew that wisdom is not found in having every answer, but in trusting the One who does. When the road is uncertain, when circumstances don't make sense, and when we cannot see what is ahead, God does not ask us to understand everything, He asks us to trust Him. When we “acknowledge him” in all our ways, we recognize that He is not simply part of our journey; He is the One who must lead it.

As Mark and I begin this new journey as the newly appointed Pastors at the Ocoee Church of God of Prophecy, these verses have become more than Scripture we read, they have become a foundation for how we move forward. We have a vision for this church, a heart for the people, and a desire to see souls saved and lives transformed, but we cannot see everything that God has planned. There will be decisions we don't understand, challenges we didn't expect, and moments when we won't know what the next step should be. But our responsibility is not to have the entire path figured out; it is to trust the One who knows the way. God called us, and God will lead us. We will acknowledge Him in our preaching, our leadership, our decisions, our rebuilding, our outreach, and everything we do. We may not have the whole map, but if we keep our hands in His and our hearts surrendered to His will, “he shall direct thy paths.”
