The Christian life was never intended to be merely a life of self-improvement. It is a life of transformation through surrender. At the center of our faith stands a cross; not only the cross upon which Jesus died, but the cross that every believer is called to embrace.
When Jesus said, “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Luke 9:23), He was inviting us into a life that appears paradoxical to the natural mind. In God’s kingdom, death leads to life, surrender leads to victory, weakness becomes strength, and yielding to Christ releases His power through us.
A crucified life is not a defeated life. It is a powerful life. It is the life of a believer who has learned to lay down personal ambitions, fleshly desires, fears, offenses, and self-will so that Christ may fully reign within. The cross removes what hinders and releases what heaven desires.
Throughout this five day devotional, we will explore what it means to live crucified with Christ and discover the freedom, authority, peace, and spiritual power that flow from a life fully surrendered to Him. As we yield ourselves afresh to the Holy Spirit, may God reveal areas that need to be placed upon the altar and empower us to walk in the fullness of His resurrection life. The cross is not merely where our salvation began, it is where our transformation continues.
