The first day of annual conference of the GMC was full of good teaching on witnessing, sharing your story, and helping people have an experience of the presence of Jesus.
Sounds Intimidating doesn't it? However it's really pretty simple and we will be talking about it over this summer.
To begin, I want you all to name 3 people who you feel need to experience Jesus. I want you to pray for them as often as you need to, and on Sunday as we gather for prayer we'll lift them up to the Lord. God answers prayer, so let's be very intentional in praying for those 3 people we especially care about; thinking what our part is in helping them experience Jesus presence.
See You Sunday.

We had the opportunity to watch last Sunday's service while driving on vacation. We have been at this church for 10 years and we love how God has changed us Spiritually as a congregation, as well as our physical surroundings. He has changed so much within this congregation and it has been fun to watch Him work.
The work of God continues in spite of us. Our God and the church are deathless. They will continue long after our human work in this world is done.
Many have come before, and many will come after, and through it all our God remains pure and constant. It's not about us, it has been and will always be about Him.
So let those worldly people say whatever they need to say to make themselves feel righteous or important. Long after earthly life ceases, the church will live on, and God remembers those that love His son, and His church.
See ya Sunday.

On this Memorial day weekend I remember my friends and family who served in the military. Honestly, it made me a little homesick spending time in my memories of people and places that are important to me.
You see, one cannot be a mountaineer without experiencing the mountains, coal mines, pinto beans, fried potatoes, and cornbread.
One cannot be from a bluegrass state without understanding horse racing and the Kentucky Derby.
One cannot be a Hoosier without an intense understanding of college football and basketball.
I've been them all, but what I most love being is a follower of Christ with an understanding of how much Jesus loves His church. Jesus calls the church His bride. It is Holy and it is Sacred.
It saddens me that humans somehow got it in their minds that church should be exactly as they need it to be, instead of what Christ calls out for it to be.
I love that Ocklawaha Community Church is a place that constantly seeks to be a church full of the Holy Spirit and God's leading.
Let's keep praying as God is leading us towards new seasons. He has something great and exciting as we move into the future with Him.

Time to say a big thank you to some awesome people that keep this place running.
1. Our finance team - Donna K., Nancy G.,
Cindy F, and Fae R. They due a great job counting, depositing, recording and making sure all bills get paid and the checkbook balances. These ladies work with such honesty and integrity so we never have to worry about the state of our finances.
2. Our thrift store workers are the best. Selena, Linda, Mike, and Annette do an amazing job sorting and selling. The thrift store is busier than ever - not only being a store, but also being a mission. Lots of struggles and prayers are shared on any given day during thrift store hours.
3. Bill does a great job keeping things fixed up and our grounds looking good.
4. Our musicians - Amanda and Wes are the best. Wes also does a great job filling the pulpit from time to time.
5. Our congregation, faithful to pray, faithful to meet, and faithful to love and encourage - simply a joy to be part of it.
Thank you all for loving Jesus, His church, and each other.
See you Sunday in person or online.

In spite of drought conditions, and cold snaps, this rose decided to bloom in all its glory. It sits in my front yard to remind me that even in our hardest seasons of life God still calls us, still uses us to His glory. Don't let anxiety, fear, or worry keep you from that beautiful potential God gave you.
Quit looking for........fill in the blank.......and bloom where God planted you. Last I heard, He doesn't make mistakes.
See you Sunday- in person or online.

We believe in God as creator, Jesus as Savior, and we accept the guidance and intercession of the Holy Spirit in our lives. In this church God speaks to us of being involved in eternity right now. Eternity is here and now - part of current daily experiences as we choose to continue the path toward the next phase of eternity which is heaven.
Let that sink in for a moment. If we are an active part of eternity now what issues need to be at the forefront of our hearts, minds, activities?
First and foremost a daily prayer time seeking where God is moving and how we can be the hands and feet to accomplish His will.
Second is to look around and really see the hurting of this world and realize we can be interceding for them, standing in the gap for them, pleading God's favor for them when they are in a space they can't do it for themselves.
We as followers of Christ have important work to do while on this side of eternity, and I thank God for each one of you and your willingness to serve.
See You Sunday - In person or online.
