Danny Keith Harper, 73, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Sunday, December 29, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, January 3, 2025, at Lax Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Harris Johnson and the Rev. James Grimes officiating. Interment will follow in the Satilla Baptist Church Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mr. Harper was born December 11, 1951, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Willis & Alice Kilgore Harper. He was a shipping and receiving clerk at Rainbow Irrigation. Mr. Harper was an avid Irwin County and Georgia football fan. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who was also known as Pig Papa. He was a wonderful husband to his bride of 40 years.

Mr. Harper is survived by his wife, Barbara Harper of Ocilla; children: Sandra Smith & Carl of Ocilla, Ann Young of Ocilla, Betty Dubose of Fitzgerald and Michelle Soliz & Paul of Fitzgerald; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy Harper & Molley; and a sister, Alicia Roberts & Ray. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Andy Harper, Tommy Harper and Jerry Harper.

Paulk Funeral Home, Ocilla, is in charge of arrangements.

14 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
