“What do these stones mean to you?”
In 3 years of gathering as a faith community with a heart for exploration and experimentation, we tend to accumulate lots of little tokens along the way. Small and sacred things that remind us of people, places, and moments when the veil between Sprit and flesh became thinner, when the presence of God’s grace became embodied and dwelt among us. We have many such stories, and many precious gifts to help us remember.
The smooth rocks we took from Buccaneer Beach and decorated with our prayers… the Little People that Mia placed on the altar before her baptism… these are like the sacred stones the ancient Hebrews carried into new and unfamiliar places as assurances of God’s promise that followed them wherever they would go.
And as we enter ourselves into new and unfamiliar places, may these holy objects stir up in our hearts the same grace that led us out into the unknown from the beginning.
