The Moore-Montgomery Scholarship Program of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs is pleased to announce that their 2026 scholarship recipient is Maeve Williams.

Maeve Williams graduated on Wednesday, May 20th from Ocean Springs High School with High Honors, an Advanced Diploma, a Distinguished Traditional Diploma Endorsement and is an International Baccalaureate Candidate. She will be heading off the University of Mississippi on May 25th to begin her college journey with the Chinese Flagship Program this summer. While at Ocean Springs High School Maeve was a member of both the National Honors Society and Mu Alpha Theta. She was on the OSHS Tennis team for five years and a varsity member for the last four years where she was also Co-Captain for the past two years.
In the fall of 2026 Maeve will be enrolling in the Croft School of International Relations at Ole Miss and wants to continue working with children and is excited to travel with her schooling.
Maeve has been a member of St John's since 2017 and is daughter to Victoria and Allen Williams and granddaughter to long-time member Martha Thompson.

This St. John’s scholarship program was made possible by the generous gift and planning of our beloved member Herb Moore and his life partner, Steven Montgomery. Each year, the Moore-Montgomery Scholarship Committee asks five lay members of the church to review applications received for the award. The amount of scholarship funding available to award each year is calculated based on the amount of interest earned on the capital invested by the church’s Endowment Committee over the prior annual period. High school seniors graduating in that year’s class who are members of St. John’s, or who are the children or grandchildren of members of the church are also eligible. Successful applicants are selected based on their school grades, church involvement, community volunteerism, and on the recommendations of church members and staff.
