One of our garden volunteers - I call her "Mom" - made a bunch of pottery stakes to mark our garden beds.

I am biased, but I think they are awesome!

Another way to enjoy time together at camp!

OP Camp now has a library of 68 games. The games will be kept in storage and there will be a checkout system to ensure the games stay complete and in good condition for future plays.

Many of you won't recognize the majority of these titles. Board gaming has become a huge hobby space and there are now over 3,000 games published each year. It doesn't rival video games in size and impact, but its substantial.

These games have come via donations from personal collections and publisher promotions.

Jessie Connor, Pastor at Orchards United Methodist Church in Vancouver, has organized an ecumenical group of ministry leaders from southwest Washington and northwest Oregon. The group seeks to find ways for the church to effect positive change in our current public policies.

Yesterday a few of that group met in Vancouver at St. Andrew Lutheran Church with Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp Perez. She is the Representative for the state of Washington's third district located in SW Washington.

We shared stories of the the issues facing our community around topics like Christian Nationalism, ICE and others. There was also a question and answer period with the congresswoman.

The goal is to use our voices to let political leaders know how national, state and local policies are effecting our community and that our churches and ministries are paying attention to which of these elected officials are and are not "speaking out on behalf of the voiceless, and for the rights of all who are vulnerable." (Proverbs 31:8)

For over 30 years Camp Victory has been coming to OP to do a summer camp for children who are survivors of sexual abuse. Its an amazing camp and it is an honor for Ocean Park Camp to host this camp.

One of the traditions that had cropped up through the years was to sing a certain song around a mulberry tree that used to grow near Ye Olde Dining Hall. The dining hall and the tree are unfortunately gone. Both falling to the march of time.

Our master gardener and a volunteer for Camp Victory, Griz Bruncke, heard how important that tradition was and decided it was time to bring the mulberry tree back! It is not exactly where the old tree was, but it is near.

Lets all bless our new tree with one verse from the song and lets send out prayers, good wishes and positive energy that it thrives and blesses us with its beauty, shade and symbolism.

I see ribbons on the mulberry
Many colors are we
Little hands and big ones too
Represent the few

Chorus
We’re ok, you’re ok, I’m ok too
We come together, to help each other
That’s just what we do
