Today, we remember. 🇺🇸☦️

On this solemn anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders who ran toward danger with extraordinary courage.

As Orthodox Christians, we lift up in prayer all those who fell asleep on that tragic day and all who continue to carry its memory.

May their memory be eternal. Αἰωνία ἡ μνήμη.

May God grant comfort to those who mourn, strength to those who carry lasting wounds, and peace to our nation and our world.

We remember. We honor. We pray. We will never forget. 🇺🇸🕯️

Dear Parish Family,

We are pleased to share that we will celebrate the Elevation of the Holy Cross with a Divine Liturgy on Monday, September 14th, beginning at 9:30 AM at St. George.

We are especially grateful to Fr. Demetri Constantine, who has graciously volunteered to serve the Divine Liturgy for our parish while visiting Ocean City on vacation and on his own time. We sincerely thank him for his generosity, love, and willingness to serve our community.

We invite everyone to join us as we come together in prayer and worship to honor the precious and life-giving Cross of our Lord.

May the Holy Cross strengthen us in our faith and guide us always in the love of Christ.

We look forward to celebrating this blessed feast together.

☦️ 14th Sunday of Matthew

“Many are called, but few are chosen.” — Matthew 22:14

On this blessed Sunday, we are reminded through the Parable of the Wedding Feast that God invites each of us into His Kingdom. May we open our hearts to His call and strive each day to live in faith, love, and repentance.

☦️ Blessed Sunday!

Today we celebrate the 13th Sunday of Matthew and the Apodosis of the Feast of the Forerunner, along with the saints commemorated on this day.

St. Paul reminds us:

“Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”
— 1 Corinthians 16:13–14

And in today’s Gospel:

“The very stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner; this was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?”
— Matthew 21:42

May we carry these words with us throughout the week. ☦️

Today we celebrate the Dormition of our Most Holy Lady the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary. ☦️

As we honor the falling asleep of the Mother of God, we are reminded of her unwavering faith, humility, and love—and of the hope of eternal life in Christ.

Most Holy Theotokos, save us and intercede for us.

☦️ The Dormition of our Most Holy Lady, the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary

Today, August 15, we joyfully celebrate the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos—her falling asleep in the Lord and her passing from this earthly life into the eternal life of her Son.

As we honor the Mother of God, we remember her unwavering faith, humility, and love, and we ask for her continued prayers and intercessions for us and for the whole world.

Most Holy Theotokos, save us!

What an incredible weekend! 💙🇬🇷

On behalf of everyone at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate our Greek heritage, experience our warm hospitality, and share in the food, music, dancing, and fellowship that make our festival so special.

A heartfelt THANK YOU goes to our amazing volunteers. Your dedication, countless hours, and unique talents are what make this festival such a tremendous success year after year. From preparing delicious food and pastries to welcoming guests with smiling faces, every contribution helped create a memorable experience for all.

Because of your commitment, we were able to welcome friends and neighbors from Ocean City, Delaware, and the surrounding communities to enjoy a little taste of Greece right here in the USA.

We are grateful for everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, and supported our parish. We can’t wait to welcome you back next year!
