When our plans do not go the way they were planned, we can rest assured God is in control and things are still going according to His plan.

Nothing ever catches God by surprise......He already has the answer in place. Read Romans 8:28 Sometimes we may never know why something happened, but we have to trust that God has everything worked out in His perfect plan. Walk by faith and not by sight.

On a different but related note....when we pray for healing God can heal instantly and I have known walking miracles that were healed instantly. God can sometimes let us have a thorn to work a greater good (see the case of Paul. Also, Timothy had a stomach ailment). God uses regular doctors and medicine. There is another way God heals a Christian is perfect healing by going home to glory. Those who have not reached the age of accountability (whole sermon in itself...see the son of king David and other verses) Babies who pass on are perfectly healed. For a Christian, when we pass we step into the next chapter of life and are perfectly healed. No more pain, no more sorrow. God is Sovereign and He answers prayer according to His perfect will and His perfect knowledge. We have to trust Him in all things.
