Jesus doesn’t shame strugglers.

He gives strength to overcome.

Lust is always stronger before the sin than after it.

This is why Jesus guides us.

He wants us to see there is a better way.

A way that leads to freedom.

A way that leads to satisfaction.

Not shame.

Not bo***ge.

Start cutting tonight.

Cut out those movies.

Cut out those conversations.

Cut out the “innocent” flirting.

Jesus said:

“If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away.” — Matthew 5:29 (NIV)

The point isn’t self-harm.

The point is radical action.

Action Steps:

1. Expose it.
2. Flee it.
3. Redirect it.

What are you cutting out tonight?

Don’t sit in it. Surrender it.See you today at Church of Hope.8:30 AM • 10:00 AM • 11:30 AM

What were you looking at last night?

Last week?

That you know you shouldn’t have been?

What are you battling?

What are you struggling with?

That thing you said you were done with.

Don’t sit in shame.

Show up and surrender.

Learn what step to take next this Sunday at Church Of Hope.

Invite a friend. Fight the good fight together.

How do you handle anger without letting it handle you.

Anger is a real emotion.

This week’s message offered a powerful framework:

• Ask: Does my anger protect people or punish people?
• Bring your anger into the presence of God.
• Refuse to let unchecked anger turn wounds into weapons.
• Be honest about what’s really hurting.
• Remember: healing begins when denial ends.
• Name it.
• Surrender it.
• Let God redirect it into something healthy, holy, and helpful.

Share this with someone who needs it.

Holding anger in your heart?

Towards an ex?
A politician?
A pastor?
A boss?
A friend?
A family member?

We need to check it.

Jesus gives us a strategy in Matthew 5:23-25:

“First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.”

Notice the order.

First go.
First reconcile.
First make it right.

Then worship.

In today’s world, this can look like:

Before we post.
Before we comment.
Before we text.
Before we unfollow.
Before we vent.
Before we gossip.
Before we fire off that email.
Before we walk away from the relationship.

Go and get right.

“God is not nearly as impressed with the worship of our lips as He is with the condition of our hearts” Mark D. Cummins

You know the moment.

Scrolling through your
feed.

That photo you shouldn't look twice at.

That comparison that lands in your gut.

The thing you wish nobody saw.

Jesus doesn't shame you about it. He walks right into the middle of it.

And He says something radical:

If your eye is causing you to stumble… take it seriously.

Not shame. Seriousness.

Because what you're looking at is shaping who you're becoming.

Your eyes are connected to your heart. And your heart is the most important thing you have.

This Sunday — High Ground continues — and we’re talking about lust — Matthew 5, verses 27 through 30.

If you've felt trapped in that cycle… this is the freedom message you've been waiting for.

Church of Hope.
There's a place for you.

Parents: This Sunday's teaching is diving into what God’s Word says about lust.

The auditorium experience is designed with 6th grade and above in mind.

Topics this Sunday and throughout the summer will include content not appropriate for children under 6th grade.

Hope Kids is ready and excited to partner with you for a great experience for your kiddos

Sunday was powerful.

A reminder that anger itself is not sin.

The real question is:

Does my anger protect people or punish people?

Unchecked anger turns wounds into weapons.

Healing begins when denial ends.
So name it. Bring your anger to God.

The safest place for your anger is in the presence of God.

Let God redirect it into:

• Clarity
• Purpose
• Salvation
• Advocacy
• Healing
• Compassion
• Understanding

Higher ground begins when Christ becomes Lord over your reactions.

This wasn’t just a message about anger. It was an invitation to healing.

Save it. Reflect on it. Share it. Put it in play.

What they did was wrong.

That anger you feel? It’s not.

Being angry isn’t the problem.
It’s what you do next.

Most people take their wound and turn it into a weapon.

They replay it.
Retaliate.
Gossip.
Get even.

And the hurt keeps spreading.

Hurt people hurt people.

Jesus gives us a better way:

“Settle matters quickly with your adversary…” — Matthew 5:25

Don’t let the wound sit.
Don’t feed it.
Don’t build your identity around it.

Address it.
Forgive.
Seek peace.

Because unchecked anger turns wounds into weapons.

And the person it destroys first is usually you.
