Monitoring Tropical Storm Milton & Supporting Hurricane Helene Survivors
As we monitor Tropical Storm Milton, which may strengthen into a hurricane in the coming days, we encourage everyone to review their preparedness plans and begin making necessary preparations for potential impacts. Detailed information and guidance from Ministry Protection will be communicated Monday as we continue tracking the storm. Clergy are invited to encourage their congregations to follow advice from community officials related to evacuation and preparation. This is a time to contact people in the life of the congregation who may need assistance and coordinate help for any special needs.
We will have updates no later than Sunday evening related to Conference-wide events this week that may be impacted by the storm. For updates, please visit flumc.org.
At the same time, we remain committed to supporting those most impacted by Hurricane Helene here in Florida. This week, we’ve witnessed an incredible response to the needs of those affected, and we know these needs will continue. We are grateful for your continued involvement in this vital work.

Below is a prayer from Bishop Tom Berlin that may be a resource for your personal prayer time or in worship tomorrow:
Loving God,
We pray for our United Methodist family in Florida and all those who have faced the devastation of Hurricane Helene. We have seen the resilience of those most impacted. We have seen our connection at work as individuals and churches have shown up with food, water, flood buckets, materials and funds generously given to help others in this challenging time. As we are preparing for the uncertainty of Hurricane Milton, we ask that you help us prepare well, make wise decisions, and be organized to respond again to the impact we will experience and the needs that will be present. By your Spirit, grant us strength, courage, and wisdom as we support one another and our communities. May the love of Christ shine through The United Methodist Church, and may we offer service that brings hope to all who are affected.
In the gracious name of Christ, we pray. Amen.
Thank you for your continued support, prayers, and generosity. Together, we are making a difference.
