What a blessing our BLEND Valentine's Brunch was today. We took a break today from studying Peter to fellowship. We enjoyed each other's cooking, enjoyed having time to talk, a skit was presented that really got us to thinking about serving, and ended with remembering Peter and his walk on the water experience. We also gave some thought as to how Jesus thoroughly knows us and how He thoroughly loves us as well.

BLEND Bible Studies begin January 16th and 17th at Cross Pointe.
BLEND stands for: "Biblical Living Encouraged thru Nurturing Discipleship" We would love to have you as part of our adventure.
Both studies meet in the Activities Building and both begin at 10:00 am and end at 11:30 am. We hope you can join one of these groups.

Tuesday Morning Study led by Janice Barrett:

Have you ever thought someone said one thing and a friend thought they said something else?Effective communication can be difficult, often the message spoken is not the message received by the hearers of that message.

Paul faced this problem with the Thessalonians. He had written them earlier to help them grow in the faith, comforting and encouraging them by affirming the reality of Christ’s return. Just a few months later Paul received word that some had misunderstood his teaching about the second coming.
Paul responds quickly by sending a second letter to this young church. In it he gives further instruction concerning the second coming and the day of the Lord and warns them against idleness while waiting for the second coming.
All women are welcome and bring a friend or two as we discover what Paul has to say about the second coming of our Lord.

Wednesday Morning Study led by Pat Talcott:

This is an in-depth Bible Study in workbook format. The book we will be using is:
Peter - Abandoning Self for Christ by Mindy Ferguson. Please purchase your book at amazon.com or christianbook.com and bring it the first day.

Each week after the opening session, we will break up into small groups to discuss what we
studied at home during the week. This particular book will generate rich and honest
discussions. This may be the best part! And, you might just make a new friend as we stay in
the same group for the entire semester.

Through this study, you will walk with Peter as an eyewitness to the life of Christ. You will
watch Peter transform from Simon the ordinary fisherman to Peter, fisher of men. Peter will
encourage and inspire you. But most of all, he will challenge you to develop a deeper and
more personal relationship with your Savior. He will motivate you to abandon self for Christ.

As our Wednesday BLEND Women's Bible Study is currently studying the "I AM" statements of Jesus in the book of John, we paused the study to hear testimonies of women in our group explaining how the almighty I AM has been active in their lives. What a great encouragement for all of us.
