As we remember Labor Day, we pause with grateful hearts to thank all who faithfully serve and labor in love for our church family. Your time, gifts, prayers, and dedication help The Way Independent Christian Church grow in faith, fellowship, and ministry. The great church-gathering debate continues: do calories count when we are enjoying food and fellowship together? While that question brought a few smiles, the heart of the evening at Pastor Ray and Sheri’s home was even sweeter—serving God with the gifts and talents He has given each of us. The Lafferty’s led a meaningful devotion and encouraged everyone to share their gifts during the month of September. Big or small, quiet or bold, every gift matters when it is offered with love. So here is the joyful question for all of us: What gift has God placed in you, and have you shared it lately?

Look at those smiles! Chair yoga is a joyful, feel-good way to care for both body and spirit. This gentle practice can help improve flexibility, balance, breathing, and relaxation—all while bringing people together in a fun and encouraging setting. We are so blessed to have Lisa leading this uplifting class each week. Join us every Thursday at 9:30 at the church for chair yoga—you are welcome to come stretch, laugh, learn, and enjoy the fellowship. Lisa also shared her knowledge about natural supplements, and we even had a cheerful conversation about pumpkin spice. Yummy!

We joyfully welcome Mitch Fischer as an Elder of The Way Independent Christian Church. Elders have served as trusted spiritual leaders since the earliest days of the church, when Paul and Barnabas appointed elders in each congregation to guide and strengthen believers (Acts 14:23). We are grateful to continue that biblical tradition as Mitch helps lead, encourage, and care for our church family. Mitch, thank you for your faithful service to God and to The Way Independent Christian Church.

The Women of the Way (WOTW) gathered on Saturday for a joyful time of praise and fellowship. Mary led the group with inspiration and shared an update on Kimberly House, which needs diapers in all sizes and children’s shoes from infancy through age 18. Mervyn offered an inspiring message on goodness reminding us how good our God is. Mary closed with prayer for healing and God’s care for those in need. We also spent time in girl talk sharing with each other. Please plan on attending our group next month. The last Saturday of every month at 10:00am. All women are welcome.
