Oblong Children's Christian Home Oblong Children's Christian Home is an out-of-home placement facility for at-risk and struggling youth. We do not receive any state or federal funding.

In our family-style homes, God's truths are taught daily. The Oblong Children's Christian Home has existed as a ministry to families since 1969. Our group homes provide family structure, unconditional love, and discipleship. A big thank you to the Shriners for coming through for us when our walk-in freezer went down!

They graciously allowed us to use their portable freezer while ours was on the blink, helping us keep everything cold and avoid what could have been a much bigger problem.

We are so thankful for friends in our community who are willing to lend a hand when it is needed most. Thank you, Shriners, for your kindness and generosity to the Home! ❤️

Our hearts are heavy as we remember “Mama Jean” Caldwell, a beloved former housemother at the Oblong Christian Children’s Home.

Jean poured so much of her life into loving, raising, praying for, and pointing young people to Jesus. To so many who came through the Home, she was far more than a staff member. She was Mama Jean. Her influence lives on in the lives of the children she cared for, the families she served, and the countless people who were touched by her deep love for Christ.

We are so thankful that God allowed Jean to be part of the story of the Home, and we rejoice knowing that the Jesus she loved and served so faithfully is the One she is with today.

Please join us in praying for Rich, their family, and all who loved Mama Jean. What a beautiful life she gave. ❤️
