Summer days in our horse program are about a lot more than just riding.
Our kids have been learning that caring for horses takes patience, responsibility, and a willingness to work hard, even when that work means cleaning water troughs, helping around the barn, or learning what goes into keeping a horse healthy from the ground up.
A big thank you to Paul, our farrier, for taking the time to teach our youth about hoof care and the important work that goes into it. Wesley was especially interested, and it was great to see that curiosity come alive!
These are the kinds of lessons that stick with a child: responsibility, confidence, stewardship, and the value of doing a job well.
What’s a hands-on skill you learned growing up that still sticks with you today?
