Yesterday, we joyfully celebrated the 27th Pastoral Anniversary of our Pastor Marvis McGowan and Lady Alva Carlisle McGowan! What a beautiful day of honor, fellowship, and blessing. We were grateful for the powerful messages shared by Pastor Marvis’s kingdom brothers, Pastor Samuel Jefferson and Bishop Pastor Eddie Parker III.

Pastor Jefferson exhorted us to honor God’s chosen shepherd, while Bishop Parker encouraged our leaders to keep pressing on and not grow weary in well-doing.

Pastor McGowan, we thank God for your faithful leadership and service. Shining Light BMC celebrates you and prays for many more blessed years! Happy 27th Pastoral Anniversary!

We must take a moment to say that Shining Light’s The PULL women’s ministry event featured an anointed panel of powerhouse women of God facilitated by Pastor Alva Carlisle McGowan. These young women shared their stories, wisdom and the word with a room full of women of all ages! Thank you Luanda Daniels-Taylor, Minister Mariah Smith, and Minister Mikaylah Day! We were sufficiently blessed and left with many valuable lessons that we can apply as we grow in Christ! #

What a powerful Sunday at Shining Light! 🙌🏽 From Pastor Marvis’ encouraging message from Jeremiah 29:4–12 NIV reminding us that “it’s gonna be alright”, to our phenomenal Women’s Day service with Pastor Aleta Wallace and the Greater Glory Empowerment Temple’s Praise & Worship Team, and Dance Ministry, we truly experienced an outpouring of God’s presence! Listen, that word…”Defective by Design” Whew! What a time we had!

It’s for sure that on this Sunday night, we’re all still basking in His glory and grateful for the move of God today. Thanks for stopping by, Lord!🙏🏽
