Oakton United Methodist Church Oakton United Methodist Church, "the friendly church on the corner" of Chain Bridge RD & Hunter Mil We meet at 10 AM Sunday morning in the sanctuary.

Join us on Sunday mornings at 10 AM in person or via our Oakton UMC YouTube Channel! Feel free to check out previous videos that have been posted. Following the service, join us for "Grow & Go" - where we have bible study and classes for both adults and children. We welcome and encourage families with children. We have a nursery for children 3 and under during our 10:00 AM service and Grow & Go. C

hildren's worship bags are provided for children during the service. During our 10:00 AM service, children who are in Kindergarten thru 5th grade are invited to go to Children's Church (a time for them to learn and do a craft on their own level) Children are encouraged to participate in "Buzz words". Every week, we have a bee keeper (someone in the congregation) that writes down ten words from the sermon/scripture that morning and then at the conclusion of worship the children are asked to compare their words with those of the bee keeper (Every one wins and gets a prize!)

Children and youth take an active and vital role in our worship services and in all of our mission opportunities throughout the church.

🎓✨ Join us this Sunday for a special **Youth-Led Worship & Graduate Recognition Service!**

This Sunday's topic is Gratitude, inspired by 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and Isaiah 63:7-9. Together, we'll reflect on God's faithfulness, love, and presence in every season of life as our youth lead us in worship through music, prayers, readings, and reflections.

We'll also take time to celebrate our graduating seniors and recognize the many ways God is working through the next generation. Following worship, all youth and their families are invited to stay for a Celebration Lunch as we honor our graduates, celebrate student leadership, and enjoy fellowship together.

We hope you'll join us for this meaningful morning of worship, gratitude, and celebration. 💙

Diaper Drive- Collecting now through June 21st

OUMC is partnering with HomeAid National Capital Region to help them reach their goal of collecting 1 million diapers and wipes for families in our region. You can drop-off your donations at OUMC - 2951 Chain Bridge Road, Oakton, VA 22124 until June 21st. To donate diapers online, click on the link below.

The collection bin will be next to the Food Pantry, Women Giving back, and Lamb Center Donation bins.

Some days you feel hopeful.
Other days you feel tired, stuck, or overwhelmed.
It can feel like you’re just trying to hold everything together.

The disciples knew that feeling too.
They didn’t immediately become fearless people.
They struggled with fear, confusion, and uncertainty.
And instead of being abandoned in those moments, they were met with peace.
There was space for doubt, questions, and growth.

This Sunday, we’re talking about Fire and Wind and the ways God still meets people with comfort, courage, and presence in the middle of ordinary life.

If you’ve been feeling exhausted from constantly trying to prove yourself lately… this is for you.
Some days you stay quiet to keep the peace.
Other days you feel like you have to fight to be heard.
It can feel like the world only rewards the loudest, strongest, or most successful people.

The Beatitudes reflect this too.
Jesus didn’t call the powerful or perfect “blessed.”
He spoke to people carrying burdens, uncertainty, grief, and pressure.
And instead of telling them to strive harder, He pointed them toward trust.
They were met with grace.
There was space for humility, gentleness, and rest.

This Sunday, we’re talking about what meekness actually means and why Jesus called it blessed.
