🙏How are you doing, momma? We're praying that the joy and strength of the Lord is sustaining you as you care for your baby and juggle many other responsibilities. May He stretch out parts of your day so that you can get a moment just for yourself, to catch your breath and squeeze in some rest. May His sweet and gentle Presence overflow in you today.
📌For those who weren't able to join us for Motherhood in the Overflow last Sunday, we wanted to share some encouragement and simple ways to show yourself grace.
1) Take deep breaths throughout the day. Feel your feet on the ground. Meditate on your favorite scripture or soak in calming worship music.
2) You don't have to do it all on your own. There's so much multi-tasking that goes on each day, and it all adds up. Even with the seemingly little things, ask for help!
3) Self-care is not selfish. Don't feel guilty about taking care of yourself first. Even if it's for 15 - 30 mins, just for yourself, do it! Take a short walk, eat your favorite food, snuggle up with a good book or whatever it is that gives you a moment to reset.
4) Set healthy relationship boundaries. You're first a human being, not a human doing-- you're not a machine (although it may feel like it right now). If you haven't had a baby, it's impossible to fully understand the physical, emotional and mental stress that you're experiencing. So, if you haven't already, start the important dialogue with your spouse/family caretaker, so that everyone's on the same page with how they can support you. [We highly recommend Boundaries by Cloud & Townsend if you're struggling to know when to say no and yes.]
Follow and share with a friend who also needs this encouragement.
