September is Su***de Prevention Month.

This month, Beauty from Ashes is making space for conversations that are sometimes difficult—but can save lives.

Suicidal thoughts don't always sound like, “I want to die.”

Sometimes they sound like:

“I’m tired.”
“I can’t keep doing this.”
“Everyone would be better without me.”
“I just want everything to stop.”
“I don’t see a way out.”

This month, we're going to talk about the things people are often afraid to say out loud.

What if you stopped focusing on what you don’t have?

The relationship you don’t have.
The money you haven’t made yet.
The opportunity that hasn’t come.
The answer you’re still waiting for.
The version of life you thought you’d have by now.

Sometimes we become so focused on what’s missing that we overlook what’s already here.

The growth.
The peace you fought hard for.
The people who genuinely love you.
The doors God has opened.
The prayers He’s already answered.
The strength you didn’t know you had.

Wanting more isn’t wrong. Having goals isn’t wrong. Praying for change isn’t wrong.

But you don’t have to make yourself miserable while you wait for more.

Maybe gratitude isn’t pretending you have everything you want.

Maybe it’s being able to say:

“There are still things I’m praying for, but I refuse to overlook what God has already given me.”

Today, instead of asking, "What am I missing?”

Try asking:

“What do I already have that I once prayed for?”

That question might change the way you see your life. 💜
