Come have lunch with your neighbors. Our next Community Lunch is on Thursday July 16 at Noon. Join us. The meal is on us but you are welcome to bring something if you wish. Good food, good friends; it is a community get together!

It is almost HOMECOMING! The second Sunday in July means Homecoming at the Oakman Ranger UMC, Oakman Rd in the Oakman community.

A day to celebrate the work and service of the church and its people through the years. It is time to come home.
Former Pastor Rev Tim Dees will be in the pulpit with a special message. Lunch/dinner will follow; potluck contributions welcome but not necessary. Just come. Past church members, family, friends or newcomers. Just come.

It is a busy month at Oakman Ranger UMC……..

Sunday July 12 – HOMECOMING! When current and past members of the church join together to celebrate the church and rededicate ourselves to our mission. Visitors are also welcome. Service at 11 AM with special music and our special speaker Rev Tim Dees, past pastor at Oakman Ranger. Lunch/dinner will follow. You are welcome to bring your favorite potluck dish, but it isn’t necessary. Just come join us. Sunday July 12 at 11 AM.

Tuesday July 14 begins our study on the beliefs of the nation’s founding fathers. Starting at 4 PM at the church, the hour-long study will continue for 6 weeks. There is no cost and all are welcome.

Thursday July 16 is the third Thursday of the month and that means it is time for our monthly community lunch! Come mingle with your neighbors, enjoy great food and great company. The lunch is on us but you are welcome to bring a contribution if you wish. Most importantly just come join us. No RSVP is needed. Just come. All are welcome.

Of course, our regular Sunday worship continues at 11 AM on Sundays. Come share the good news of salivation.

HOMECOMING! The second Sunday in July means Homecoming at the Oakman Ranger UMC, Oakman Rd in the Oakman community.

A beautiful memorial service was held Sunday afternoon, June 28 celebrating the life of our long-time member and former pastor Charles Edward Scott. He was 91 years of age when he passed away June 7. Soloist Greg Weaver’s wonderful performance of The Anchor Holds was a highlight of the service. A video clip is below.

Charles Scott, long time pastor and then member of Oakman Ranger U.M.C. passed away Sunday evening, June 7. He was 91 years of age. He will be laid to rest in Louisiana on a future date next to his beloved wife Mary Virginia.

A memorial service remembering and celebrating the life of Charles will be held on Sunday afternoon, June 28 at 3:00 PM at the church with light refreshments following.

Charles Edward Scott was born on August 8, 1934 in Dodson, Louisiana. He died peacefully in the AccentCare Inpatient Hospice in Cu***ng, Georgia at 10:00 PM on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at the age of 91. Charles has joined his beloved wife, Mary Virginia, their son “Chuck” and their daughter Sherri in the eternal kingdom. He is survived by 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, his nephew Tim and his niece Debi, as well as many family and friends.

On Sunday, June 28 at 9 AM Sugar Valley Methodist Church will be celebrating the ministry and history of Sugar Valley as we close the church as a United Methodist congregation.
