As a solitary practitioner, I allowed my intuition to move me in ritual. My ritual focus was to find my voice again, I drank Angelica and Mugwort tea, I put on appropriate music and let my body move in ways I did not understand. I allowed my voice to form syllables of power, and conjure the spirits around me to guide me in this path. I went into a trance, sang, laughed, and cried… There were things I needed to see and do, a path to walk on and kindred souls to enjoy with their company. I called to my Matron Goddess, asked her for her name and she whispered back :
“Hekate”
“this path” she said,
“offers great power and great sacrifice, are you ready to discover the knowledge accessible to you through the powers you hold within? For now, you are at a Juncture of your life, and a decision must be made, I will guard and guide you on whatever path you choose”
This was power at its most basic level, having the knowledge that I am able to control my own destiny, that I am able to direct myself in the myriad of choices available to me. But this required the fortitude of my own focus, to leave distractions behind and move forward. This was the sacrifice.
Sacrifice of the desires of multiple lifetimes of work.
Sacrifice of the distractions of the things that are not of my focus.
Sacrifice of the Dreams that are not my destiny.
At this crossroad, I gaze into the primordial waters and up through time, getting glimpses of what my life would be like with the choices I had available to me. I asked myself these three things:
What brings me the most joy?
What do I need?
Who do I want to spend my precious time with?
It is better to make a decision and have the discipline to adhere to that decision, for without the fortitude to move forward, you will not reach your destination.
To not decide is to give up your power to control your fate, the flotsam that gives its control to the flow of the waves, one may end up at the bottom of the sea, or on some distant and unknown shore.
The key is not that the destination is the most important, but the journey, the path you lead and all of the adventures along the way. This is how your power of intuition will guide you, the ultimate joy, a long sustaining journey through the power of multiple or***ms. The tightening and constricting, opening up and releasing, like a snake uncoiling, you move forward.
Hekate will meet you at these crossroads, and you will have many in your life. The Mighty Queen will greet you in her many facets throughout your time in the Earthly realms, each crossroad will give you a glimpse of her holy power. Give yourself time to allow your eyes to adjust to the holy fire emanating from her torches.
