We consider ourselves to be a community church and a family church. We are united by the love of God, and we strive to demonstrate this through our caring for one another. Our greatest desire is to reach out and touch the lives of people with the love of Jesu
s Christ. We carry out this mission by gathering together in worship to be strengthened by the presence of the Holy Spirit, studying God’s Word, caring for each other and those around us, praying for each other and our community, serving others under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and joining together in Christian fellowship. We are affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and we are a member of the Central Florida Presbytery. We are located in the historic town of Oakland, Florida- just west of Winter Garden and east of Clermont- in Orange County. Our church has a rich heritage that often parallels the development of this town, which grew up as the citrus industry grew and the railroads were being built in Central Florida. Interested people worshiped together in various homes in the area until the church was formally organized in 1887. Although we have been around for some time, we still have that sense of community, and welcome all who find themselves settling into the rapidly developing areas of West Orange and South Lake counties. We offer many programs and ministries to meet the needs of those in our congregation and the community. No matter what your circumstance in life, we have a place for you- in Christ’s family- at Oakland Presbyterian Church. We welcome you with open arms and loving hearts!
