Good afternoon,
Here are some highlights from the Hope For Community Leadership Meetings that were held last Thursday and Sunday:
-A letter has been delivered to Bishop Barber and the Diocese.
-The letter is about the appeal to not close St. Patrick’s.
-Members of the Diocese showed up to the meetings, but did not speak when they had a chance to.
-Information about how the Diocese clustered St. Patrick with St. Leo the Great Church. As a result, we couldn’t approve 2025 Budget. Members of the St. Patrick’s Financial Committee elevated our concerns to officials. They never responded back.
-Asked to approve 2026 Budget with a $172,868 budget.
-Savings of St. Patrick’s are currently held captive by Diocese.
-Fr. Erick Villa asked for a copy of the letter from the Diocese. He still hasn’t received it.
-The Bishop, nor the Diocese still hasn’t given us a date to when we supposedly close.
-Members of St. Patrick’s may commit to legal action towards the Bishop and the Diocese.
