Want to learn singing?
The secret of singing is the word "sustain".
Keyboard musicians don't necessarily require pitch awareness. Just hit the right (pretuned) keys correctly at the right time, and enjoy the feeling.
Read on.
Singers' skills are more complicated, they had to hear the pitch and melodic movements and then muscle up their voices through using their semi-controlable vocal system, which includes their semi-controlable diaphragm to produce a subtle, even flow of breath to support a long column-like air flow which activates their very small vocal folds inorder to phonate/onset the fragile vocal folds to immitate/match a externally/internally heard tone/pitch and trust that that pitch perfectly match the frequency of the tone/pitch they think they hear.
Now, to maintain that pitch takes a lot of fine tuning from breath flow/support, even phonation and oral resonance control. Whether staccaco or sustain, each singing moment requires intensive attention and perfect coordination among all the organs involved. A perfect psychosomatic process with touching spiritual-soulful expression which involves also body movements, facial expressions, costume, deportment of the whole person, physical, social and spiritual.
In doing so, both sides of the brain have to be in turbo mode and the nerve system between them have the most linking lines of communication compared to any other human activities.
Now, do you still want to learn to sing?
Don't worry, natural singers are the best. Don't teach them, they will fall apart when you teach them. (More questions?)
