***LONG POST***
Grace and peace to you family, from God our Creator and the LORD Jesus Christ.
We write to you with hearts that are heavy yet still anchored in hope. In these recent days, we have all borne witness to the heretical and vitriolic declarations of individuals who would dare posture themselves before the masses as pontiff, healer—yes, even savior. I speak plainly, family: my heart has been grieved. I have sat in silence with the weight of this rhetoric. I have endured the memes, the mockery disguised as comedy, the hollow defenses, the relentless finger-pointing—and it has left my spirit troubled.
I am further saddened by the sight of men so intoxicated with the wine of power that they have come to believe their own blasphemies. Words spoken without truth. Authority claimed without righteousness. And when I look upon a nation so saturated with hatred, deception, and division, my soul mourns—because at times it feels as though light and life have been all but extinguished. I will not recount the vile and railing accusations now exposed to the light—truths long buried, now uncovered—because even naming them feels heavy on the tongue.
Yes, family… these are truly times that try our very souls.
And yet—even here, even now, even in the thick of all we see and all we have endured, the old prophet speaks again. In the midst of ruin and despair, Jeremiah recorded words that have steadied unsteady minds, broken chains of wickedness, and ushered the peace of God back to the marginalized and the cast aside.
“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.”
It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed,
because His compassions do not fail.
They are new every morning—great is Thy faithfulness.
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore will I hope in Him.”
The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,
to the soul that seeks Him.
— Lamentations 3:21–25
Saints of the West Coast Region of TFAM, we admonish you—stand fast in righteousness and good works. Even in these most perilous and painful times, do not lose hope. We are the people of God, and the promise of God to God’s people still stands: God will keep us. Stand firm in this sacred knowing.
As our Senior Most Prelate so often reminds us,
“For where we’re going, there is no roadmap—but we are NOT lost.”
Some among us have lived long enough to remember: we have seen the God of our understanding deliver before. We have witnessed the impossible made possible. And we know—beyond hearsay, beyond theory, beyond doubt—that the same God can, and will, do it again.
TFAM West, Let’s Pray Together:
Gracious and Eternal God, In these uncertain and ever-changing times,
we come together and turn our hearts to You.
Be our comfort. Be our strength.
Be the light that guides us forward.
Remind us, day by day, that You walk with us,
that You watch over us, and that You hold us steady through every challenge we face.
Strengthen our faith. Calm our anxious hearts.
Draw us together in hope and in love.
May Your peace guard our hearts and minds.
May Your wisdom guide our choices.
And may Your presence remain the anchor we hold to—
now and always.
We offer this prayer with trust and gratitude,
in the Name of all that is Righteous, Holy, and Divine.
Amen.
