Paul Huggins was born and raised in Hastings on England’s south coast. A troubled childhood led him into serious trouble with the law, but boxing became his escape and ultimately changed the direction of his life.

By the age of 14, Paul had become the British Schoolboys Champion, and at 19 he turned professional. He rose to become the UK’s number one ranked boxer after defeating European champion Vincenzo Limatola in 1987, and fought notable names including world champion Barry McGuigan.

After boxing, Paul became involved in drug smuggling and violent criminal activity, eventually facing prison and possible long-term sentencing on fi****ms charges. During this darkest chapter of his life, he cried out to Jesus for help. While serving time in HM Prison Wormwood Scrubs, reading the Gospel of John radically transformed him from what he describes as a “violent, ruthless criminal” into a man filled with faith and peace.

Today, together with his wife Bernadette, Paul serves at Emmanuel Church and co-founded Missionary SEED, a ministry supporting and educating young people in the slums of Antipolo City in the Philippines.

Roger Fothergill has spent the last 60 years following two lifelong passions: serving Jesus Christ and flying aircraft. Becoming a Christian at 16 and beginning his aviation journey soon after, Roger went on to study Aeronautical Engineering at Queen's University Belfast before working in Beirut and later serving with Mission Aviation Fellowship in Sudan, Tanzania and Chad.

Together with his wife Jess, whom he met while training for mission service, Roger combined aviation, engineering and Christian mission work across several continents. After later spending 26 years as an airline pilot — including flying to Barra’s famous beach runway in the Outer Hebrides — Roger retired in 2014.

Since then, he has continued travelling internationally, particularly in Africa and Pakistan, sharing what he calls his “29 Favourite Stories of Jesus.” Roger describes his 60-year Christian journey as “sometimes tough, always blessed — the ride of a lifetime.”

Ghana-born Samuel is a freelance IT specialist who moved to the United Kingdom twenty-two years ago intending to join the Royal Air Force. Arriving with very limited financial support and facing significant challenges, he taught himself advanced software development skills and today is a highly skilled software specialist.

Samuel has a powerful story of God’s provision through difficult seasons, including an extraordinary account of miraculous physical healing in his own life. He is married to his wife, Naomi, and together they have three daughters.

Christopher Beth worked for many years as a business consultant before a mission trip to the Brazilian Amazon changed the direction of his life. Seeing communities without access to safe drinking water, he felt called to combine practical help with sharing the Gospel, leading to the founding of The Bucket Ministry. What began in Brazil has now expanded to more than twenty countries, providing clean water and evangelism to communities in need. Christopher has been married to his high school sweetheart, Sheri, for over 30 years, and together they have two children and four grandchildren.

Jason spent 27 years trapped in he**in addiction, with no belief in God and little hope of change. It was only after returning to prison that everything shifted—he picked up a Gideons Bible and, confronted deeply by what he read, made a decisive surrender of his life to Christ.

Today, Jason’s story is one of profound transformation. Now 53, he is married into a strong Christian family and serves in a Christian rehabilitation ministry, helping others find the same hope and freedom he discovered. Despite ongoing challenges, he is genuinely enjoying life—living proof that no past is beyond redemption and that Jesus can completely change a life.

Vinny Commons came to faith as a student in 1979, and since then has travelled widely sharing the Gospel with people of all ages, especially young people. With a background in football at a high level, he brings energy and relatability to his ministry, and is particularly known for his unique outreach using a ceramic exhibition centred around a potter’s wheel.

Daniel Bassett spent time in the Royal Navy, and was an On-Call Fire Fighter. Daniel spent over a decade working in close protection after protecting crews from Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean. He is a former staunch atheist who mocked religion. His friends told him to read the Gospels and that is how he became a Christian.

Dr. LaVelle Hendricks grew up in Louisiana in a drug-infested neighbourhood. He used to read the Bible, and would mimic what he saw in the Bible. When he was a small child, he saw a lot of violence. He asked the Lord, I said, "If you ever give me a chance to get out of all of this, I'll go and serve you for the rest of my life." So he did.
