In 2 Corinthians 12:7, Paul tells us that “a thorn in the flesh was given” to him. A thorn in the flesh is a metaphor that Paul used to refer to a persistent, painful, and recurring source of irritation, trouble, or distress. I think that it’s pretty safe to say that we all have some type of “thorn”in our lives that we’re dealing with. A thorn can be anything, it can be pain, a bad habit, grief, depression, anxiety, a troubling situation of your own, or someone elses struggle that you keep having to deal with, it can be an ex, or any number of things, I mean that list can go on and on. I don’t know what kind of thorn you’re dealing with, but I do know the one who has the power to remove it.
Different people have different problems, some struggle physically, while others struggle emotionally. We all have a story of tragedy, trauma and heartache. Even though our stories are different and our struggles vary, there’s one we all have in common, we all need God’s grace in our lives.
Paul asked God 3 times to remove the thorn from his flesh and the Lord told him no, “my grace is sufficient.” Join us this Sunday and find out why. We hope to see you!! Sunday school for all ages 9:45. Worship 10:40
