Friday, April 3, 2026 - Good Friday at The Rock

This Good Friday, we’ll open the sanctuary from 6:00–10:00 PM for a quiet, candlelit time of reflection and prayer. You’re welcome to come and go as you’re able.

We’re asking everyone to help keep the space silent, so we can feel the weight and meaning of the night together.

At 7:00 PM, there will be a reading that walks through Jesus’ final hours from the Last Supper and His betrayal, to His arrest, trial, and crucifixion. The reading will be from Matthew 26–27 and Psalms 22 and 88, shared by two readers.

If you’d like someone to pray with you, prayer will be available from 6:30–7:00 PM and 7:30–8:00 PM in the church office.

Come sit, pray, and remember Christ’s sacrifice.

And his name shall be called: Wonderful! Counselor! The Everlasting Father! The Prince of Peace!

The Nativity of Jesus celebrates the incarnation of God, which means that he came to earth to live as a man and undo the damage caused by the fall of the first man, Adam.

And this is the crux of why we celebrate Christmas: because it allowed us to receive God’s grace. There is nothing we can do to earn salvation. None of us will measure up. And yet, God offers his grace as a free gift.

Christmas serves as a reminder that God continues to love us, no matter what we do or who we are. It is not about acting the right way, or always doing the right thing. God’s love is constant. It is unconditional.

Merry Christmas from The Church at The ROCK.
