Hmong Baptist National Association
Office of the Vice President

July 28, 2026
Greetings to all HBNA Member Churches, Pastors, and leaders.
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As we reach the midpoint of 2026, I write to you with a joyful and hopeful heart, both to check in on the life and health of our churches and to share an important update regarding the leadership of our association.

For some time, HBNA has faced a financial shift that has kept us from hiring a full-time Executive Director. Rather than allow this season to slow our momentum, our Board of Directors met in prayer and discernment and, in January of 2026, voted to approve a dual leadership structure for our organization. I am pleased to announce that Pastor Cha Yang, who currently serves as HBNA President, has agreed to also serve as our Interim Director. He will now carry both roles as we continue to move forward together.

We believe this is a very good and Spirit-led opportunity for HBNA. Pastor Cha Yang's continued faithfulness, wisdom, and heart for our churches make him uniquely equipped to guide us through this season with clarity and unity. This dual leadership arrangement allows us to be good stewards of our resources while ensuring that our churches continue to receive strong, consistent, and prayerful guidance as we focus on growth and stability in the days ahead.

Just as the writer of Hebrews reminds us to lay aside every weight and hindrance, to run our race with endurance, and to keep our eyes fixed steadily on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, we too are called to press forward without growing weary or losing heart. HBNA has run this race for many years because of churches like yours, and we are confident that the same faithfulness that has carried us this far will carry us into an even brighter future.

Please know that Pastor Cha Yang and I, along with the entire HBNA team, remain deeply committed to serving you. It is truly an honor for us to walk alongside every HBNA church nationwide, and we do not take this calling lightly. We ask that you continue to hold our leadership, our staff, and our shared mission in your prayers as we navigate this transition together.

On behalf of the Leadership Team, thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement, and support of HBNA. Your faithfulness to Christ and to this association does not go unnoticed, and we look forward to all that God has in store for us in the second half of this year and beyond.

With love and gratitude in Christ,
Pastor Vameng Pha
