House of Prayer Please join us for Sunday Worship at 9:30am House of Prayer is a small but vibrant group of believers that is part of a larger witness.

ion in the Saint Paul Area Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). With nearly 3.3 million members across the 50 states and in the Caribbean region, the ELCA is one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States. We believe in a loving God who is present and active in the world for the sake of the life of creation and all people. We believe that we are not what we have done or what has been done to us; we are who God says we are: beloved. We believe that we are freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor, as God in Christ loves us. We are grateful to be your neighbor, and would be delighted to get to know you and walk the road of faith with you. INTRODUCTION TO THE DAY
When Peter doesn't grasp Jesus' words about suffering, Jesus tells the disciples they will find their lives in losing them. Such sacrificial love is described by Paul when he urges us to associate with the lowly and not repay evil with evil. In worship we gather as a community that we might offer ourselves for the sake of our suffering world.

INTRODUCTION TO THE DAY
Elijah finds the presence of God not in earthquake, wind, or fire, but in the sound of sheer silence. When the disciples face a great storm on the sea, they cry out with fear. Jesus says: "Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid." Amid the storms of life, gather to seek the calm presence of Christ that soothes our fears. In comforting words of scripture and in the refreshing bread and cup of the eucharist, God grants us peace and sends us forth to be a sign of God's presence to others.
