🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET | 25 YEARS OF REMEMBRANCE 🇺🇸

The Town of Oakboro and First Baptist Church of Oakboro invite our community to join us on September 11, 2026, as we pause to remember and honor the lives forever changed by the attacks of September 11, 2001.

🔔 Church bells will be rung at the exact times of the major events of that morning, marking each moment with reflection and remembrance.

We invite everyone in our community to take a moment to pause, remember, and honor the victims, survivors, first responders, military members, and countless others whose lives were forever impacted.

25 years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — Forever in our hearts.
🔔 September 11, 2026 — A day of remembrance.

What a day the Lord has given us! We will lift our voices and glorify His name forever! Thank you for being here with us as we worship the Lord this morning. One of the hardest commands we find in the Scriptures relating to marriage is that wives are supposed to submit to their husbands. Today we are talking about this command, what it means, why it matters, and how to get it right. We are glad to have you join us in this journey.

God is good; all the time. And today, we are worshiping Him for His goodness. Last time we talked about the problem all of our marriages face: Sin. But understanding the problem with something is not the same as understanding how it is supposed to work. This week, we are returning to the creation narrative to see if we can wrap our heads around this even more fundamental question. Thank you for joining us as we give Him glory together.

Can't wait to see you at The Gathering Place this week!

We are glad to have you with us as we worship the Lord this morning. The relationship between Christ and the church is often compared to a marriage. The church is called the bride of Christ. This speaks to the nature of that relationship, but also to the great significance of marriage. This morning, we are kicking off a new teaching series exploring some of what the scriptures have to say about marriage. Let’s dig in together and see what blessings we can find in God‘s word.

When we stand at the marriage altar, we pledge to love and be committed to each other "until death do us part." Marriage was always intended by God to be a lifelong journey. In a broken world, things don't always work out that way, but no matter where you happen to land in this journey, you could probably use some wisdom for the road. Over the next five weeks, we are going to be exploring together some of what the Scriptures have to say about marriage. If you are married, thinking about getting married, or even just know someone who is married, this is a series you will not want to miss. See you Sunday for part 1: Identifying the Problem.
