With at least a trillion pages on the internet (CNN Tech, Sept 12, 2011), it’s really a miracle that you found this one! Since you’re here, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the website of Faith Lutheran Church in Oak Ridge, TN and tell you just a little bit about who we are. How can I describe our community to you in one hundred words or less? The easiest way to tell you who
we are is to tell you why we exist. Faith is a group of desperate and broken people, made that way by sin, who have been adopted by a God who heals our ravaged lives through the forgiving love He shows us through His Son, Jesus Christ. But God’s plan isn’t complete with just us! His family in this place is nowhere full. Perhaps that’s why He brought you to this page-- so you would know that there’s a place for you in the Family of Faith! What kind of family are we? We’re a family that is devoted to LOVING GOD! With a God who loves us so completely that He would die on a cross to save us from the destruction our sins deserved, what else can we do but respond by loving Him? But when people love the God who first loved them, a wonderful multiplication happens! The love they have for their Savior has a habit of spilling over into other areas of their lives. That’s why Faith is a family that’s also devoted to LOVING PEOPLE! After all, if we really love the merciful God who died to save us, will we not also love those for whom He gave His life as well? And what better way is there to show love to others than to help them through the difficulties of life? That’s why Faith is a family devoted to SERVING OUR WORLD! The life of Jesus showed us that love that never rolls up its sleeves is really no love at all. And so we follow His lead— serving our community through simple acts of kindness and powerful words of hope .... the hope that only Jesus can provide! If you’re looking for a new church family, why not come for a visit and see if Faith is the one for you? I pray that it is! May the joy of Jesus accompany you on your journey.
