This Sunday, in anticipation of the start of the Jazz Prayer season on September 18, our worship services will feature jazz music. At 10:30, the Kettle Brothers – a favorite Jazz Prayer band that plays traditional New Orleans jazz – will be providing the music.

Don't forget--we return to 2 services this week: 8:30am and 10:30am with Christian Education (Sunday School and this month's Sunday Forum) at 9:15am.

Good Shepherd’s annual Oktoberfest is one month away! Join us on October 10, 5:30-8pm. Paul Collins from Ethnic Dance Chicago will lead us in a variety of dancing. The menu will feature roast pork and brats. Tickets can be found on our website (link below) or buy with cash on Sundays throughout September.

Adults: $20

Children 4-12: $7

Children under 3: free

Please purchase your tickets early so we can plan the menu. If you would like to volunteer to assist with this family-friendly event, please contact Barb Hunt.

The Sunday Forum returns this Sunday! Join us at 9:15AM for "Synod 101"

Learn about the work of the Chicago Metro Synod, one of our church body's 65 synods, in a casual forum including question-and-answer time. Good Shepherd member Kristina Herrera, serving on the synod council, coordinates this forum which features previous council member Dan Feiertag, GS synod assembly delegates Kyle Niewald and Linda Thomas, plus Pr. Nathan Klein, assistant to the synod bishop. The synod assembly elected a new bishop, Erik Christensen, who assumes his new role this fall.
