We FaceTimed him for the reveal of his Cactus Plant Flea Market Air Force 1s after bringing them back to life.

Seeing his reaction in real time—even through a phone screen—made all the work worth it.

Sometimes you don’t realize how dirty your shoes are… until you see them clean again. 😭

After giving these Salomons a deep clean, it was finally time for the reveal.

His reaction was priceless.

He kept saying he didn’t even realize some of the original colors were on the shoes because they’d been covered in dirt for so long. 🤯

That’s exactly why I love doing these surprise restorations.

After a deep clean and a fresh midsole repaint, it was finally time to bring his Air Maxes back.

This was his first time seeing them since he handed them over… and his reaction says it all. 🤯

They thought I was filming a skit…

After meeting a guy during his lunch break and taking the shoes off his feet to restore them, he told me I had to check out the thrift store he worked at.

So I walked over to Layers in Wicker Park.

That’s where I met one of his coworkers and one of the owners.

The first thing I noticed?

Their shoes needed some love too.

I asked if they’d be down to walk to Foot Locker with me.

They both said yes…

But the whole time they thought this was just another video idea.

They had no clue I was actually buying them each a brand-new pair of shoes.

The look on their faces when they realized it was real made the whole day worth it.

Now I’ve got two more pairs to restore, and I can’t wait to show you the transformations and their reactions. 👀

One “no” was all it took to find the right “yes.”

Not even two minutes after my last interaction, I spotted another guy whose shoes looked like they had a story to tell.

I asked if I could take the shoes off his feet, restore them for free, and surprise him with them later.

Without much hesitation…

He said yes.

The only catch?

He was on his lunch break, so we had to move fast before he got back to work.

Now it’s my turn to make sure they’re worth the wait.

I thought this was about to be another free restoration…

Then he said something I wasn’t expecting.

This guy actually said yes when I asked if I could restore his shoes for free.

Then he paused for a second…

He told me he was lucky enough to be able to buy his own shoes, and that there are people out there who would benefit from this opportunity more than he would.

So he changed his mind.

Honestly, I respected that.

It just reminded me that this project isn’t only about cleaning sneakers… it’s about meeting good people along the way.

Designed to go from your morning run, to the gym, to everyday life, the Kawana 2 is one of HOKA’s most versatile shoes. Unlike some of their ultra-soft models, it’s built with a little more stability, making it a great option for people who lift, walk, and run.

These are actually my mom’s shoes. 😭 She finally handed them over so I could give them the deep clean they deserved.

A few days ago, I walked up to two complete strangers and asked if I could have the shoes off their feet.

One of them said yes…

Then I looked over at his friend’s beat-up Air Max 90s and thought, there’s no way I’m leaving him out.

So we made one extra stop at got him a fresh pair to wear home in, and I took both pairs back to the shop for a full restoration.

Today was finally the day he got his Air Max 90s back.

Seeing his reaction reminded me why I started doing these videos in the first place.
