Charles was born and raised in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood. He has been a proud member of SEIU Local 1 for more than 22 years and currently serves as a Chief Engineer. In addition to his work, Charles serves as an Executive Board member, a member of the Racial Justice Committee, and a trustee of the SEIU Local 1 Training Fund. Through his involvement with the Racial Justice Committee, Charles was introduced to Arise Chicago and the Labor in the Pulpit program. Charles is also a devoted husband and proud father. This Labor Day weekend, he and his wife, Tesha, will celebrate 14 incredible years of marriage. Together, they are members of New Life Covenant Southeast. Charles hopes to pour into others—and will continue to—encouraging and equipping them to grow, serve, and make a meaningful impact in their communities.
