Please join us on Friday, May 22, for AANHPI Heritage Month Movie Night. We will be screening “Bride and Prejudice,” a Bollywood rendition (in English) of Jane Austen’s classic tale, where Mrs. Bakshi is eager to find suitable husbands for her five unmarried daughters. When the rich, single gentlemen Balraj and Mr. Darcy come to live nearby, the Bakshis have high hopes, though circumstance and boorish opinions threaten to get in the way of romance. Cocktail samosas will be served 😋✨

Happy Mother’s Day from First Baptist Oak Park! 🌹 Today we honor all the incredible women who pour out their hearts, their time, and their love so selflessly for their families. We were blessed to celebrate each mother in our congregation with a red rose — a small token of the deep gratitude we hold for you. 💐❤️

Yesterday, three of us from First Baptist Church Oak Park laced up and showed up — walking in the West CROP Hunger Walk alongside neighbors who believe a hungry world is not an inevitable one. CROP Hunger Walks support in fighting hunger and poverty around the globe — and 25% of every dollar raised comes right back here to feed our neighbors in the local community. At a time when food insecurity is rising and SNAP benefits are being stripped away from families who need them most, we believe the Church is called to do more than talk — we’re called to walk. Literally.

This is what it looks like to be the hands and feet of Christ in a world that is hungry — not just for bread, but for dignity, justice, and hope. We’re grateful to be part of a community that moves toward the need.
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” — Matthew 25:35
