Dear Ones,
God continues to amaze us with blessed timing and wonderful relationships.
Yesterday, our friend and spiritual companion Delores Newell died. She had not been well for a number of months, but she had a very peaceful end, leaving us in her sleep. Her legacy of faith, volunteerism, and love for all will be shared over the next few weeks. When the obituary is published, we will send out a link. We do not know with certainty the day and time for her life celebration, but Euclid Ave UMC will be the place it will happen.
Death has come among us again, but life continues. We cherish Ms. Delores in life and in death. Knowing that her faith in Christ Jesus is what saved her makes it easier and harder to let go one of our own. Please keep her son Kevin, daughter-in-law and grandchildren in your prayers.
Gracious God, who does not willingly afflict us with pain and suffering, thank you for answering the prayers of our sister Delores. She was ready to receive her place in the church triumphant. Now she can breathe the divine air and rejoice in a life well-led. Comfort us in our grieving and give to us the grace we need to follow Christ every day. In times of blessing or of affliction our life is in you, Maker of the Universe.
