AWANA is an international, Bible based children’s club, emphasizing Bible memorization, organized games, uniform wearing, Biblical storytelling and generous rewarding. A sanctioned children’s ministry at Family Bible Church, Awana meets on Tuesday and Sunday nights during the school year. Cubbies - Pre-school - 6:30-8pm Tuesdays. Children are eligible to attend Cubbies two years before they enter
kindergarten - must be 3 yrs old by Aug 31 and fully potty trained. Cubbies have an appropriate Bible lesson, small snack, games. Limited spaces are available due to the high adult/child ratio requirements. There is ALWAYS a wait list for Cubbies. Please contact our Commander, Pamela Ketchum, by phone or email us at [email protected] to get more info and be placed on our waiting list. Sparks - K-2nd Grade - 6:30-8:15pm Tuesdays. Loud singing, crazy games and clubbers working in groups through their books with adult guidance along with age appropriate Bible counsel time. Tuesday evenings end with awards presented as earned. T&T (Truth in Training) - 3rd-6th Grades - 6:30-8:30pm Tuesdays
Bigger Games, small group study, more independent study and greater depth during Bible counsel times. Tuesday evenings end with Clubbers receiving awards for finishing book challenges and other various things of note. We ‘heart’ candy rewards and treats, but also offer non-candy treats. We generally use the entire church, parking lot and surroundings for these energetic Clubbers! Everyone works together, the study and learning time is much longer and Game time is very active. Special Nights we have for our clubbers include:
- Blessings Night for T&T the last night before Christmas break where our clubbers get to "shop" for family and friends from donated items and take home wrapped gifts. Volunteer Wrappers are always a blessing!!
-Drive-In Movie Night for Cubbies/Sparks where our clubbers create "cars" out of cardboard boxes, clothes baskets, bring small camp chairs, blankets and pillows while munching on popcorn and a snack
-Grand Prix Racing for Everyone in February/March. Clubbers and families purchase an approved kit to create a car to race each other on our track.
-Ice Cream night, food drives, polka dot night, Color Team Month and participate in the Holland Happening Parade when we can. EVERY Leader is background checked. AWANA stands for; Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed, from 2 Timothy 2:15
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Our Directors and Leaders have no greater wish than to help YOUR children understand the Word of God and His Plan of Salvation. Awana 2022-2023 will begin on Tuesday, Sep 13 @ 6:30pm for Cubbies, Sparks and T&T. Check In each night begins at 6:15pm. Please no earlier. We need YOU. We need concerned and loving parents and volunteers to hear memory verses, cheer for our gamers, attend to clubbers during story times and watch while their children and clubbers receive their awards. Consider volunteering for our club and YOUR children! Pamela S. Ketchum (360) 929-2135
