National Association of Congregational Christian Churches

National Association of Congregational Christian Churches The NACCC staff serves to implement their visions and aspirations for the betterment of all member churches.

The National Association of Congregational Christian Churches serves member churches nationwide by fostering fellowship among them and providing resources that support, guide, and strengthen their work for the Kingdom of God. The National Association of Congregational Christian Churches exists to nurture fellowship among Congregational Christian churches and to support ministries of local churches

in their communities and to the world, all in the name of Christ. An association of independent, self-governing churches, the NACCC develops and manages resources and programs that embody the collective knowledge, guidance, and experience of generations of Congregational Christian churches to aid member churches, their leaders, and their congregants in meeting their unique needs. The NACCC is guided by a group of dedicated volunteers, a thoughtful Board of Directors, and an attentive Leadership Council working to provide support and encouragement to churches across the nation. Many of the people who make a lasting impact in their churches never expected to become leaders, they simply said "yes" when God opened a door.

The NACCC's Lay Ministry Training Program is designed for those who feel called to serve more deeply, whether through leadership, ministry, teaching, pastoral care, or other forms of faithful service. Through study, mentorship, and spiritual growth, participants gain practical tools and a stronger foundation for ministry in their local church and beyond.

If you're wondering whether this program might be right for you, we encourage you to explore the resources available on the LMTP webpage.

When we think of stewardship in a Christian context, we often think of caring for the church and its ministries, financial support, the giving of our time and talents, and our responsibility to the planet, but are we also called to steward God’s greatest mysteries?

In the June 2026 edition of The Congregationalist, Lawrence Balleine, echoing Paul’s message in his first letter to the church of Corinth, encourages us to cherish, learn from, and pass down the mysteries that are foundational to our faith.

The Congregationalist is now accepting submissions for our September issue, centered on the theme of Covenant. We invite writers, clergy, scholars, and thoughtful observers to explore the many dimensions of covenant in our shared and personal lives. Topics might include God’s covenant with humanity; the evolution of church covenants, both traditional and modern; social contracts such as marriage or ethical commitments within faith communities; and even broader frameworks like constitutional or civic agreements. We also welcome reflections on trust, accountability, faithfulness, and how covenants shape relationships and responsibilities in today’s world. If you have a perspective to share, we would love to hear it! Contributions can be emailed to Editor Maggie Helmick at [email protected].

We’re excited to highlight the meaningful, community-centered work North Shore Congregational Church in Fox Point, Wisconsin, has brought to life through its Sharing Vitality Grant from the NACCC’s Vitality Ministry Council.

Through their “Power Up Parenting Speaker Series,” North Shore Congregational Church created opportunities for parents, caregivers, and children to engage with trusted experts on topics including technology and screen use, friendship and emotional development, and teen anxiety and mental health.

With intentional outreach to local schools and libraries, strong community promotion, and the support of dedicated church volunteers, the series provided practical guidance, encouragement, and connection for families navigating everyday challenges.

Rooted in hospitality and care, this initiative is a beautiful example of vitality in action, meeting real community needs while strengthening relationships both within the congregation and throughout the wider community.

We look forward to seeing how this ministry continues to flourish, inspire, and spark new ideas across the NACCC. To learn more about the work they’re doing with their Sharing Vitality Grant, visit: https://www.naccc.org/sharing-vitality-in-action-north-shore-congregational-church/

All churches need thoughtful, compassionate leaders, and sometimes the first step toward becoming a church leader is simply being willing to learn, listen, and grow.

The NACCC’s Lay Ministry Training Program is designed for people who want to deepen their understanding of faith and ministry while serving their churches and communities more effectively. Whether you feel a clear call to ministry or are simply exploring how God may be leading you, this program offers guidance, encouragement, and practical learning in a supportive environment.

Participants have found the program to be transformative not only for ministry skills but also for personal spiritual growth and confidence in leadership.

If you’ve ever wondered how your gifts might be used more fully in the life of the church, this may be the perfect opportunity to explore that calling.
