A calling to ministry is a calling to constant learning.

How to preach well. How to counsel a family through grief. How to manage conflict. The learning never stops.

Pastor, you were never meant to learn alone. Allow the Lord to guide your steps. He has His loving eye upon you and He knows the way you should go, no matter what new thing you’re facing today.

Our next ZoomIn Training is September 17, and this one is worth an hour of your calendar.

Do you feel like one church event bleeds into the next, and by December you're wondering where the vision went?

In this ZoomIn training, Maddy Spranger will walk you through a better way: how to map an entire year of ministry, from big-picture vision all the way down to weekly ex*****on.

You'll start with the dreaming and strategy, name your church's main goals for the year, then build a calendar that faithfully serves the mission God has given you.

It's one hour, on Zoom. Join from wherever you are.

Ministry is often quiet service: the early morning hospital visit, the heavy counseling sessions that saved a marriage, the late-night sermon rewrite.

Most of it goes unseen. But it is not lost.

Hebrews 6:10 speaks directly to that. God does not overlook the work or the love behind the unseen work.

If you're in a season where the results are hard to see, we hope this truth encourages you today. God sees.

Every pastor knows the tension. You pray for God to lead, and you still have a calendar to fill, a budget to set, and decisions that won't wait.

Proverbs doesn't pit those against each other. It holds them together. We plan, we work, we build, and then we hand it all back to the One who called us to it. Commit the work to Him first, and the planning finds its footing.

So whatever you're mapping out this season, start there. Open your hands before you open your calendar.

The work is yours to do. The outcome is His to establish.

Where did the year go?

Most pastors know that feeling by December. The Sundays pile up, the seasons blur together, and the vision you started with gets buried under the next thing on the list.

It doesn't have to go that way. On September 17, Maddy Spranger is leading a ZoomIn training on how to build your church's entire yearly ministry calendar, from the big-picture vision all the way down to what happens week to week. You'll name your goals for the year and leave with a plan that faithfully serves the mission God has given your church.

One hour on Zoom. Join from wherever you are.

Succession is two transitions happening at once. The church is looking for the next person God is calling to lead them. You're facing a change in status, shifting finances, and a new rhythm of life you haven't lived before. Both deserve a plan.

The Pastoral Succession Cohort is built for this.

Starting September 2026 and running through February 2027, we'll meet one Tuesday a month to think through what a healthy handoff looks like.

$200 per church.

This cohort is open to every Converge Great Lakes church:
✅The lead or senior pastor.
✅A board chair, elder, or primary board leader.

More details will be sent via email beginning in September.

Questions before then? Alan Cleveland is glad to help: [email protected].

Leadership carries a quiet pressure: the sense that everything depends on keeping your own footing.

This passage counters that.

The One who called you is also the One able to keep you standing.

Our endurance rests not on our own strength but on God's faithfulness.

You aren't holding yourself up. He is. And to Him belongs the glory, now and forever.
