Luke 10:21–24 — The Son Reveals the Father
“No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” — Luke 10:22
Jesus rejoices because God has revealed His truth—not necessarily to those who think they already know everything, but to those who come with humble, childlike hearts.
There is something beautiful about that.
We can spend our whole lives learning about God and still miss knowing Him personally. Jesus tells us that the Father is revealed through the Son. If we want to know what God is like, we look at Jesus—His compassion, His mercy, His truth, His patience, and His willingness to love people exactly where they are.
Jesus also tells His disciples that they are blessed because they get to see what prophets and kings longed to see.
What a gift—to know Jesus and to have our eyes opened to who God really is.
❤️ A thought for today
Am I simply learning about Jesus, or am I allowing Jesus to reveal the Father to me?
Sometimes we want God to give us answers about the future, while He is inviting us to know Him more deeply today.
Jesus, help me come to You with a humble heart. Open my eyes to see You more clearly, and through You, help me know the Father more deeply. Don’t let me become so familiar with Scripture that I miss the Person it is pointing me toward.
