Before a recent road trip, my wife insisted I buy a pair of glasses designed to fit over my prescription lenses—glasses that reduce glare and make it easier to see at night, especially when the road is wet. With only token resistance, I made the purchase. To my surprise, they worked just as advertised. What once looked distorted and blinding suddenly became clear. The glare was still there—but it no longer controlled what I could see. It made me think of Psalm 139:11, where the writer declares, “even the night shall be light about me.” Life has its moments of glare—difficulty, disappointment, and distress that can cloud our vision and make the path ahead uncertain. But the presence of God becomes the lens through which we see differently. The darkness may not disappear, but it no longer has the final say. When God is with you, even what feels like night can become light.

Recently I received a notice from the bank that my account balance was running low. Thankfully, I wasn’t alarmed because our checking account is linked to a line of credit that provides overdraft protection. In 2 Corinthians 3:5, the Apostle Paul acknowledges his own limitations but reminds us that “our sufficiency is from God.” Sooner or later, life will present a bill that is more than we can pay. And if we try to cover it with our own resources, the check will surely bounce. Paul understood that in every crisis or contingency, his life and ministry were backed by God’s unlimited grace—divine overdraft protection. The question is: when life’s demands exceed your supply, are you relying on your resources, or God’s?

When I go to the car wash, I slow down and pay close attention. As I enter the tunnel, I make sure to align my car’s front wheels with the tracks and, when instructed by the attendant, place the car in neutral. Only then can the conveyor carry my car effortlessly through the wash tunnel.

When we follow God’s instructions, we intentionally align ourselves with the Word, put our own plans and priorities in neutral and trust God to do what’s best. Proverbs 3, verses 5 and 6 say, “Trust in LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths”.

It is how we place ourselves in position to experience not only the cleansing of our sins, but through God’s amazing grace, so much more!

In Exodus 14, Israel was led by a cloud during the day that became a pillar of fire by night. When the Egyptian army pursued them, that same manifestation of the Glory of the LORD shifted to their rear—forming a divine buffer between them and danger.

This SHIFT—Supernatural Help In Frightening Terrain—is still available to believers today! According to Colossians 1:27, that same Presence now lives within us.

So if you’re facing challenges or feeling surrounded, take a page from Moses’ counsel to Israel: “Stand still and see the salvation of the LORD!” Your SHIFT is on the way! 🙏🔥

Today marks the fourth anniversary of my Mother’s transition into the arms of Jesus. She was the strong Matriarch of our family. It’s also the birthday of my dear sister, who lovingly cared for her during her battle with cancer—and who, as a survivor herself, is a living testimony of God’s grace.

Psalm 30:5 reminds us: “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” I’ve learned that morning joy doesn’t just follow the night—it shines even through it, coloring every cloud with hope.

For years, I’ve laminated favorite Bible verses, placed them in a binder, and read them while relaxing in the steam room at the fitness center. Recently, after watching this routine, someone asked me, “Did your Bible survive the heat?” That simple, searching question stayed with me and led me to Psalm 119:11: “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”

It’s not enough to hold the Bible in our hands; it must live in our hearts. When we read, memorize, and obey God’s Word, it strengthens our faith and shapes our choices. And like those laminated pages in the steam room, we discover that whatever heat we face in life, God’s Word can handle it.

At the discount store, a little boy stood with his arms folded. His voice tinged with sadness and a hint of defiance, he said to the cashier, “I’m not invited!” His mother was buying balloons, banners, candy, and other party supplies for his sister’s birthday.

That unexpected moment stayed with me. It reminded me of the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”(NKJV). Jesus’ invitation is for everyone. No one is excluded. No one is overlooked. If you’ve ever felt left out or unloved—know this: with Jesus, you are always invited.

It’s the celebration of a lifetime—and it’s one party you don’t want to miss!

A large bus was stuck in the sand near the beach. With shovels and plywood, the driver and passengers struggled to free it. Soon, others joined in. With the engine roaring, tires spinning, and many hands pushing, the bus finally broke free.

I was moved by this spontaneous moment of unity. In a time of deep division, it was a small but powerful sign of hope.

When the Jews returned from exile, they rebuilt Jerusalem’s wall together. Nehemiah wrote, “So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart” (Nehemiah 4:6 NIV).

When we work together with all our heart, we too can break free—from isolation, from fear, from disunity.
Lend a helping hand today. It may free more than just a bus.
