Message: “Overcoming a Failure to Communicate"
“All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability. -Acts 2:4
There’s a famous line from the movie Cool Hand Luke: “What we’ve got here is failure to communicate.”
And honestly, that line still feels current. We live in a world with more ways to communicate than ever before — texts, emails, posts, group chats, livestreams — and yet we still struggle to truly understand one another.
Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit does not simply give the church something to say. The Spirit helps people hear the Good News in a language they can understand.
This coming Sunday, we will celebrate two very significant days in the life of the church and our nation since the holy day of Pentecost falls during Memorial Day weekend. We hope you join us as we celebrate a time of both remembrance and renewal.
