Calvary Hill is excited to announce the next step of our journey as a church family. While we often hear more of church splits and fractures among the body of Christ; we are happy to announce that the Lord is leading us to merge with another fellowship right here in Nowata.

Starting this Sunday, Calvary Hill Church will be worshipping with the saints at Cornerstone Community Church. We will effectively be united as one fellowship and join what the Lord is doing among the brethren there.

The former pastor of Calvary Hill Church, Nathan Freeman, will be attending the fellowship at Cornerstone while taking on the role of Associate Evangelist for Real Truth Matters ministries. Brother Nathan will be working with founder and director of RTM, Michael Durham.

We pray the Lord is pleased with this union of two bodies of believers. The Lord calls to mind His words in John 13: 35“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

We are looking for new members for our team. To join our church, you must have a very unique skill. Qualified candidates will:

Be people who know they are sinners. They are not perfect nor pretend to be.

Many candidates ask: do I need a 4 year Bible degree? No, must not be a theologian to apply, but have a hunger to know Truth and a desire to know Jesus more.

Money is a plus….just kidding, we are all poor in worldly wealth but rich in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ here. Come and we will freely share it with you.

The ONLY requirement we have, and this one is serious, we will turn you away at the door if you don’t meet this one: YOU MUST COME AS YOU ARE. NO PRETENDING TO HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER OR FAKE ‘ ’ PLEASE.

Too much of our notion of church today has been mixed in with worldliness. We expect to go to church and sit and be preached at. We expect to watch a band perform. The ministry is done by professionals while the congregation determines how well service went by how entertained they were that Sunday. How short that falls of what we can have! God would have us be fanatical worshippers. He would have us be men and women with hearts set ablaze with love and zeal for his Son.

Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone by Thomas Shepherd (1665-1739)

Must Jesus bear the cross alone
While all the world go free?
No, there’s a cross for everyone
And there’s a cross for me.

How happy are the saints above
Who once went sorrowing here!
But now they taste unmingled love
And joy without a tear.

The consecrated cross I’ll bear
Till death shall set me free
And then I’ll go home my crown to wear
For there’s a crown for me.

Calvary Hill has been made aware of the gospel sing that is being held on Sunday night. We are not associated with this and are not asking for donations from anyone. We lease a space at the Presbyterian Church, but this is not a Calvary Hill event.

Why did Jesus curse a fig tree? Why did God command Adam and Eve to 'bear fruit and multiply'? Why does the New Testament talk about 'bearing fruit' so much? Find out this Sunday as we learn what it means to 'bear fruit'!

If you don't have a church home, come and join us at 10:30 on Sunday!
