The Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, patroness of the Congregation of Holy Cross, is just 10 days away. We invite you to join us in praying the Our Lady of Sorrows Novena, written by Rev. Tim W**d, C.S.C., beginning Monday, September 7, and concluding on the Feast Day, Tuesday, September 15.

| On September 2, 1977, Archbishop Theotonius Ganguly, C.S.C., now a Servant of God, died at the age of 57 while serving in Dhaka.

| The photos above were taken during Holy Cross Mission Center Assistant Director Michael Jezewak's visit to Uganda in March 2026. They feature students at Holy Cross Lake View Senior Secondary School standing in front of the Baraka Bouts Girls' Dormitory, as well as students posing for a picture in the dormitory's basement study room.

Thanks to the dedication of Notre Dame Women's Boxing Baraka Bouts boxers and supporters, these spaces continue to provide students with opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive. Thank you for supporting Holy Cross education in Uganda.

This April, the Holy Cross Lake View Senior Secondary School community came together on Divine Mercy Sunday to celebrate a Thanksgiving Mass and honor the academic performance of the 2025 candidates for the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).

| Welcome back, boxers! We can't wait to kick off the 2026-27 Baraka Bouts season.

This year marks the 24th season of Notre Dame Women's Boxing Baraka Bouts, with boxers training, competing and raising funds to support Holy Cross education at St. Joseph's Hill Senior Secondary School and Holy Cross Lake View Senior Secondary School in Uganda. Whether you're returning or joining for the first time, we're excited to have you contribute to the Holy Cross Mission.

Here's to another season of boxing in support of Holy Cross education in Uganda. We'll see you soon!

| After long commutes and harsh rainy seasons made it difficult for teachers at St. Andrew’s Holy Cross Nursery and Primary School Jinja, Uganda, to arrive on time, the school asked the Holy Cross Mission Center for help. Thanks to the generous support of the Mary Jane DeLaney Endowment Fund, the school successfully renovated its on-campus staff quarters, increasing the housing capacity from accommodating two teachers to four teachers.

| Christ the King Parish and School in South Bend, Indiana, welcomed Rev. Subash Costa, C.S.C., pastor of Corpus Christi Parish in Bangladesh, during his visit to the United States this spring. Fr. Subash concelebrated Sunday noon Mass and spent time with the Christ the King community, strengthening the partnership between the two Twinning Partners.

Thank you to the Christ the King Parish and School and Corpus Christi Parish communities for your continued commitment to and engagement in the Twinning Program.

| On August 15, 1923, Doria LaPlante formally entered the Congregation of Holy Cross and took the religious name Br. Flavian LaPlante, C.S.C.

Br. Flavian would go on to live most of his life in Bangladesh, where he heroically served those in need. He was declared a Servant of God in 2009.
