Sybil Mabry Obituary
Sybil Preslar Mabry, 75, of Norwood, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday August 26, 2026 at Porter Baptist Church. Rev. Flynn Richardson and Dr. Kinney Wallace will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Edwards Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mabry was born on March 19, 1951 in Stanly County to the late Clyde and Edna Mae Smith Preslar. She worked at Norwood Fabric Store as the Fabric Manager and was a member at Porter Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. Sybil loved and cherished her family. She always made sure that they were taken care of. She enjoyed flowers, crafts, watching her humming birds, and her beloved canine companion, Pug.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, TC Preslar.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Donald Mabry; her son: Shellie Mabry (Candy); brother :Lee Preslar; sister: Gail Tucker (Pat); and sister in laws, Carolyn Preslar and Jovanne Faulkner; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Tillery Compassionate Care for their kindness and care.

The family requests memorials to be made to Tillery Compassionate Care: 960 N First Street, Albemarle NC 28001.
