Meet Garrett and Katrina McLarty!

The McLarty family is excited to join the team of New Beginnings Ranch this season!

Our passion as a family is seeing people discover who God is. The wilderness has always been a place we have connected with God and look forward to joining the vision of inviting people to come to New Beginnings Ranch (NBR) to connect with God, each other, and then leave rejuvenated.

For the last few years, we have focused on inviting people to be active close to where they live. At the same time, we have continued to appreciate taking time away from the relentless pace of life to be with God. In our everyday lives, we have been blessed by the weekly rest and rejuvenation of Sabbath, however, we also recognize the need sometimes for longer times of rest. We look forward to inviting others into a time of “Sabbatical” at NBR.

Part of the blessing left to us by Evie Carlson is that the invitation to, “Come, rest a while”, is available regardless of someone’s background or finances.

15 years ago, Katrina and I were praying about where God wanted us live and what he wanted us to do. That journey took us to Big Lake youth camp where we were blessed to spend our first year of marriage. We loved engaging people in the wilderness. From there we spent the next several years in Southeast Asia; where we learned about what it looks like to share God’s love across culture and worldview. The last several years we have been in the Northwest and the Northeast connecting with people and sharing the gospel.

In 2023, we began feeling a familiar feeling; God was going to be asking us to move. We prayed about several opportunities that were before us, and after much prayer, felt impressed to come join the NBR team.

As we come onboard, we look forward to continuing the legacy left by the Carlson Family! The goal of NBR is to be a place where people can connect with God. While we love facilitating outdoor adventures and team building, we look forward most to being part of God’s plan to see His children come to Him for rest and peace!

Our children Joel (8), and Kyra (10), are excited to explore and learn more about the southwest plants and animals and meet other kids who come up to NBR.
