We’re surrounded by voices promising peace if we can just learn the right secret. Scripture actually uses that word secret… but in a way that turns everything upside down.

In Philippians 4, Paul says he “learned the secret” of contentment. But instead of gaining control, he lost the need for it. Instead of getting more, he learned how to need less. While imprisoned, Paul shows us a joy that isn’t rooted in outcomes or self-preservation, but rather in Christ being exalted no matter what.

If you’ve been carrying anxiety tied to control, reputation, or outcomes, this passage speaks directly to that tension.

In this message, we look at the life and sufferings of the Apostle Paul and confront a truth that is easily missed:
being chosen does not lead to comfort, it leads to being poured out.
Paul endured beatings, imprisonment, hunger, abandonment, and ultimately death. Not because God had forsaken him, but because God was using him for the salvation of others who were chosen by grace.

In this message, we look at the life and sufferings of the Apostle Paul and confront a truth the modern church often avoids:being chosen does not lead to com...

This morning we begin exploring one of the most humbling and often controversial doctrines in Scripture: what it means to be chosen by God.

I have personally struggled with this doctrine because it raises difficult questions about God’s sovereignty, human responsibility, evangelism, assurance of salvation, and the nature of grace itself. Some reject it emotionally, fearing it portrays God as unfair or undermines human freedom. But Scripture presents it as a hope for believers, not a threat.

From the prophets to Christ we see a consistent biblical pattern: God preserves a people for Himself, not by works, but by grace.

This sermon does not attempt to exhaust the subject, but to begin where Scripture begins: with God’s grace, Christ’s finished work, and the certainty that all whom the Father has given to the Son will come and will be raised on the last day.

Rewarding unearned success devalues true achievement. God uses our failures to teach us what we need to change so we do not repeat the same mistakes.

Spiritual warfare is not won through anger, arguments, or influence, but through Christlike love. In a world shaped by conformity and deception, this sermon reveals that the true armor of God is a heart rooted in Christ, walking as He walked. Jesus warned that as lawlessness increases, many will allow their love to grow cold—but “the one who endures to the end will be saved” (Matthew 24:12–13). Endurance, then, is not marked by hardness but love. This message calls believers to resist the world’s patterns and protect the love that alone has the power to overcome the enemy.
