Turns out three seconds is not quite enough time for the pastor to set the camera timer AND make it into the photo😂 Thankfully we got there!

Three years ago, our congregation dreamed of welcoming a staff member who would help us share the inclusive love and joy of the gospel more broadly, and who would help us use digital media to deepen relationships, strengthen our ministries, and create new opportunities to serve Jesus.

The Holy Spirit led us to Emily Mathews as our Director of Communications, and she did all of that and so much more.

Yesterday, over an absolutely delicious work-of-art antipasto made by none other than Jenny Healy, our beloved Children’s & Family Minister, we gathered around the table to celebrate Emily on her last day with us and to give thanks for the faith and encouragement, creativity and clarity she brought to us all as we navigated a new chapter of ministry together.

Emily has helped us build a digital ministry in service of relationships, community, and the gospel.

Emily, we thank God for the gifts you’ve shared so generously with us. We bless you as you go, and pray that wherever the road leads next, you know how deeply you are appreciated and how much good you have left behind✝️

A window into Camp.

This Sunday, our youth joined young people from Congregational churches across the South Shore for a meaningful week away from screens, set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Winnipesaukee.

What does camp look like?
Each morning begins with Morning Watch devotions, and each evening ends gathered around the campfire for Vespers, where songs, prayers, stories, and reflections bring faith to life.

For those who have experienced it, there is simply nothing like the Spirit of Camp—the laughter and friendships, the traditions and adventures, the freedom to be fully yourself, and the deep sense that you matter and you belong.

Cards on a Mission, a donation-funded program offered by Mission + Outreach that raises money for our partner organizations by selling holiday and all occasion cards, invites artists to submit their art to be featured on the cards this upcoming programming year. If you are an artist interested in participating, please comment below, or message us!

Each year, Cards on a Mission brings in thousands of dollars and directly turns those funds around, distributing them to partner organizations including:

This past Sunday, Rev. Bill McCoy preached on how grace shows up in our lives.

Grace doesn't demand or overwhelm. More often, it comes gently — a tap on the shoulder. A lullaby.

And sometimes it looks like a pair of hands: hands that build, hands that serve, hands that pray, hands that pass grace on to someone else.

This Sunday, led by members of the Racial + Social Justice ministry team we’re taking a stand for love and justice! Just as the prophets before us, we won’t be silent in the face of injustice. Join us as we gather to amplify voices that echo through the generations, reminding us that standing for what is right is a call we can’t ignore.

Join us from 10:00-11:00am this Sunday, July 19, as we show our church's support for love and justice out front on the church lawn. Bring your own sign or use one we'll have on hand (no political signs, please). We'll move from worship to an hour of fun and fellowship on the lawn and happy honks and waves from passersby.

We are rolling out new interior signage, providing new visitors and regular attendees alike a warm welcome and clear directions throughout the building.

Thoughtfully and professionally designed by our Signage Task Force, these signs aim to provide guidance and clarity, reflecting the open and welcoming community found inside our doors.

This past Sunday, Rev. Peggy O'Neil Files opened our summer sermon series, The Path of the Prophet, with a reflection on her recent visit to Outdoor Church in Boston. She and members of our congregation went, listened, and told stories. And what Peggy discovered was simple and profound: when we listen to one another, and when we give people the chance to be heard, we discover how much we have in common. In that discovery, we come closer to one another — and closer to God.⁠

Peggy's sermon inspired us to ask a few of our church members a simple question: Who was the first person who really listened to you — who really heard you, like God does?Here's what they told us:⁠

Ann (Prayerful Stitches) — Grandma Finnie (Helen Finnie) was the first person I ever felt really listened to me.⁠
⁠
CJ (Stream Team) — One of the first people I remember really listening to me was my grandpa, Jay. It didn't matter if we were on the golf course or in the kitchen making pizzelle cookies — he had a way of always making me feel heard and valued.⁠

Lily (Kids programming and event planner) — My horseback riding coach, Whitney. She loves horses as much as I do.⁠
⁠
Robbi (Music Ministry chair) — For me it's my friend and mentor Charles Bankston, who started me on my spiritual journey.⁠

Hank (Cooking for a Cause chef) — The Nature Specialist at my school, Ellyn. We can talk bugs for hours!⁠

Andy (past Moderator) — For me it was one of my best friends' moms and my confirmation sponsor, Mary Lee Berridge.⁠

Six different people. Six different listeners. But the same holy thing happened in each story: someone was heard the way God hears us — and in being heard, they came a little closer to knowing themselves, their people, and God.⁠

This summer, join us for The Path of the Prophet, an eight-week sermon series inspired by Richard Rohr's The Tears of Things: Prophetic Wisdom for an Age of Outrage. Through the voices of the Hebrew prophets, we'll explore how God leads us through disruption, grief, hope, and transformation, inviting us to imagine and work toward a more just and compassionate world.
