“Your Nativity, O Theotokos, has proclaimed joy to the whole world.”
Today the Church celebrates with great joy the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos. Her birth marks the beginning of God’s preparation for the coming of Christ into the world.
Born to the righteous Joachim and Anna after many years of prayer, the Virgin Mary reminds us that God works quietly and faithfully, even when we cannot yet see His plan unfolding. Through her humble “yes” to God, the Theotokos would become the Mother of our Savior and the living temple of His presence.
Her Nativity therefore invites us also to open our hearts to God—to trust Him, to seek His will, and to allow Christ to be born spiritually within our lives.
On this beautiful feast, may the Most Holy Theotokos intercede for our families, our children, our parish, and all those who are in need.
Most Holy Theotokos, save us!
